Edge Cycling

Sprinters Edge strives to provide the best in coaching and training for all levels and disciplines.

Sprinters Edge provides a unique, integrated approach to developing sprint cyclists. We believe that to become your best, careful attention needs to be paid to all elements of preparation. Proper training, nutrition, restorative methods, race tactics, and a balanced lifestyle must be in place to ensure top performance. To succeed as a sprinter, your training must be highly specialized and focused on improving the qualities necessary to produce the power and speed required for a world-class performance. Despite good intentions to help cyclists strengthen their capabilities, many young sprinters are "un-made" by poor choices in training and methodology. We will ensure you make the right choices by selecting methods that develop you as a sprint athlete and by avoiding those techniques that not only waste time but may also cause shifts in physiology which could restrain cyclists from reaching their full potential. Riders are constantly being challenged to break personal bests. Sprinter's Edge strives to create a positive, goal-oriented system and approach for the preparation of sprint cyclists. By helping cyclists to consistently break PRs, Sprinter's Edge enables riders to achieve more confidence in their ability as well as more interest and enthusiasm for training. If your goal is to become a top international sprint competitor or just develop a winning sprint on the Sunday group ride, let Sprinter's Edge provide you with the tools to be your best.

Junior endurance rider, Cara King had a great start to her Junior Nationals, but unfortunately had a crash with one to go at the Criterium. Cara suffered a few minor injuries, but is on the mend. We are very fortunate she is ok. Cara joined the team last year, and she’s made huge strides within a short time frame. We are excited to see her continue having fun and excelling! Good to see you smiling, Cara!! ❤️

Cara’s recap:

2019 Junior Nationals~ a crazy trip! Started on Thursday with the TT, beat my time by 3 minutes from last year. Ended up 15th. Next was the Road Race, not a fan of hills but ended up 17th. Finally we had the crit... I was moving myself up in the pack, about 7th in the group on the last lap until @abiyatess and I decided we wanted to give the ground a hug!
I got to finish up the week by being at the hospital, with some road rash on my back, bruised lungs bruised ribs a hairline fracture now I’m stuck with a shoulder mobilizer.

Happy Olympic Day to the community and our athletes. The sport brings people together from around the world and we are incredibly lucky to call The Valley Preferred Cycling Center home!

Pictured is our Elite athlete, James Mellen, who made history at the velodrome a few weeks ago, being the first and only rider to ever go under 10 seconds in the Flying 200 at the velodrome, clocking 9.991! James is continuing to put the hard work in toward USA Cycling Elite Track Nationals and hopefully earn a spot on the Pan American Championships Team. #integrity #sport #olympicday #cycling

We’ve seen Mandy Marquardt on the podium a few times this season so far, but last night she came home with the win and gaining valuable Olympic qualification points at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center UCI CL1 Sprint GP. Great work as she continues the training and race block through to Nationals and the Pan American Championships.

We don’t think anyone else experienced opening day at the Valley Preferred Cycling Center like Marcy Bardman. Marcy advanced through the morning rounds, make a quick exit to rush to an afternoon full of classes at Lehigh University where she is a Civil Engineering student. She sped back to the velo for the evening session and took a 9th place in the UCI elite women’s keirin.

Allyson had a great experience racing overseas in Belgian. She was close to a sea level PB in the 200m qualifiers, and placed 4th in both the Elite Women’s Sprint and Keirin + lots gaining lots of valuable experience.

Good start in 2019 for Edge Cycling. Back to work!

• • Instagram REPOST • • @ally_waz17 • • Coolest experience racing the current world Keirin champion!! Just missed out on the podium again in the Keirin by placing 4th but I’m glad I came and was able to get some fun fast racing in!! I did earn myself some euros though 💰#trackcycling #cycling

It’s been a long winter in the gym and on the Wattbike, but it’s great to be back on the boards. Coach Andrew Harris and a few riders are here at the UCI Belgian International Track Meeting this weekend. James Mellen qualifies second fastest with a 10.2 in the Elite Men’s Sprints and raced his way into the gold medal final against the French rider. Strong rides by both men and James finishes 2nd overall. Ally finishes 4th overall in the Elite Women’s Sprints and Rebecca has started the Women’s Elite Omnium! #USA USA Cycling
