This wasn’t just my hand being raised. It was every time I chose discipline over comfort. Every time I kept going when it would have been easier to quit. Every hard truth I finally faced and every part of myself I had to rebuild.

There was a version of me who never would have made it to this moment. But that man isn’t standing here anymore.

The man standing here is a husband, a father, a black belt, a coach, a gym owner and once again, a competitor.

I’m proud of myself. I know exactly what it took for me to become this person and I’m not going to pretend like I’m not.

Thank you to my wife and son for believing in me, supporting all the time and work that went into this and standing beside me through all of it. None of these moments would mean nearly as much without you there to share them with me.

Thank you to my Asylum teammates who trained with me, pushed me, prepared me and stood in my corner. It may have been my match, but I didnt get there alone. I’m proud to represent all of you.

And thank you to everyone in the community who showed up for me. The messages, encouragement and support meant more to me than you probably realize, especially when I needed it most. You reminded me how many good people I have in my corner and I’ll never forget that.

I’ll never take this version of myself or moments like this for granted. 🖤
