“Consistency” is a word thrown around a lot in the fitness industry.

When you first hear it, you think it means never falling off track and being perfect every day.

But that is not consistent. That’s called being perfect.

Being perfect is not human.

And I’m assuming that you are a human reading this?

So let’s not talk about perfection, and redefine what consistency means.

Consistency means staying on track overall. Meaning, it’s okay when you fall off track, but getting back on track right away is important.

Staying on track most of the time is the goal.

For example, I have gotten off track with several things in my life:
* Meal prep....I'm still struggling but I try to do better each day.
*Get my photos and videos downloaded from my phone so I can create content...I'm doing that now but have been distracted.
*Workout in at least 3 times a week...If I get 1 or 2 I feel better than none at all.
*Get 6-8 hours sleep....I'm up to 4-5 nights with good solid 6-8 hours of sleep

Daily habits go a long way to help me get on back track, even if I don't fully get back on it.

What matters is that you’re committed to the overall goal and getting back on track as quickly as possible.

Consistency is about being persistent, not perfect.

Happy New Year! I am ready to start the year; how about you? My new year usually start with loads of good intentions for getting my workouts, eat better, start meditating, and generally be better at keeping to healthy habits and be more productive. I usually keep up for a month or so, then I let life get in the way and use it as an excuse to not do the things I need to do. Then I feel deflated and guilty. This year I'm getting back to Atomic Habits basics.... start with simple little changes and keep celebrating each small success. Our 6-week reset program will start mid January, so be on the lookout for the info. It's time to reset, reflect, and make small habit changes that last.
