▫️There's a difference between loving your body, and being complacent with where you are in your health and fitness. ▫️

Since 2020, I've gained about 20 pounds.

And the truth is, over the last year it's been a huge mental struggle for me. On the one hand, I love my curves and the fullness in my face and body that has never been there before.

On the other hand, I don't always recognize the body I see in the mirror. And it has NOT been easy to have to go up 2-3 sizes in jeans/bottoms. 😬

Looking at social media lately would tell me to embrace my new body, love it, accept it, and be grateful for it bringing me this far, for growing a perfect baby, and allowing me to be active and fit. 🙌🏼

However, what social media doesn't see in telling me how I SHOULD feel about my new body & the extra pounds I've added in the last couple years is the high blood pressure I'm still treating with medication, the high cholesterol that has appeared on recent laboratory tests, the family history of cardiac issues, the negative thoughts about the extra weight in my midsection that never used to be there, and the reliance on negative habits to self-medicate my anxiety and depression that has significantly worsened over the last year and contributed to the weight gain. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Yes, I LOVE my body. I ADMIRE it for all it's been through and for getting me through 35 years without significant incident or issues. I accept my body where it is and will treat it with respect and kindness. 🤍

BUT I will not be complacent. I have big health and fitness goals, and I am dedicated to getting my body healthy once again. 💪🏻This past year has been for the mental work, and now it's time to achieve those health and fitness goals!

~It's ok to want better for your health & physical appearance. As long as you are coming from a place of loving yourself and doing it to honor your body, not to punish it, there is nothing wrong with wanting to lose weight, tone your body, or change up your eating habits.~

🔅It's not too late to start on your health & fitness goals. 🔅

It's not too late to eat healthier. It's not too late to feel confident in your body.

There's no reason to wait until "the right time" to start on your health and fitness goals.

Because let's be honest with ourselves…is there ever a right time? 💁🏻‍♀️

Is there ever a time when everything in our lives align to help us easily achieve our goals? That's a big NO.🙅🏻‍♀️

Are we too busy and overwhelmed with our lives already? We think this is the answer, but…

Really, we are just afraid of change and being uncomfortable - so we make excuses to put off starting.😬

But I'm here to tell you that today is the PERFECT time to decide to make a change, to commit to yourself and not look back.

To know there is a way out of the stress, overwhelm, negative self-talk, body self-consciousness, exhaustion, and overall unhealthy way of living life.

Why not today? Why not now? ⁉️

Now is a great time to make healthier changes - because you'll show yourself that even during busy times, full of back-to-school stuff, Fall sports and fun Fall activities 🍁, and lots of yummy food and drinks - you can stay consistent on your goals and still enjoy yourself.

Let's do this together, shall we?? I'm so excited for the change and growth we're going to see before the end of 2022! 🤍

*Tips for not feeling like crap and still enjoying the rest of summer*

Do you have 1 more trip planned before the kids start school or the end of summer? ✈️Feel like all you’ve done is eat junk food and drink this summer, and you’re feeling drained and bloated? Or have you made progress in your fitness goals this summer and are worried about losing that progress on vacation? 🫤

Here are a few tips to stay/get on track while still have fun these last few weeks of summer ☀️:

1️⃣Pick 1 meal a day to go all out, eat what you want without restricting or thinking about the amount of fat or carbs or calories. Then the rest of the day focus on nutrient dense foods - lots of veggies, protein, nuts, hummus, high fiber foods, etc.

2️⃣Get your steps in! Take a walk each day to explore the new place you’re in or a walk on the beach if you’re at the beach. Getting a walk in each day will make you feel so much better, I promise!

3️⃣Water, water and more water. Water will help keeps your digestive tract running and keep you hydrated, helping with energy and feeling fuller between meals. Seltzer water (sans alcohol) works perfectly well.

4️⃣Do something relaxing! Take a book or 2 that are purely fun reads, give your mind a rest. Download a few entertaining podcasts (whatever your taste is) and just sit by the pool, the water, or outside, close your eyes and just chill for 30 minutes or so.

Whether you take 1 of these tips and use it through these last few weeks of summer, or try to incorporate all 4, remember to slow down and find the good in each day. 😊 You’re doing the best you can and enjoying life and your loved ones is of the utmost importance, always 🤍

❕Building healthy habits also means building healthy boundaries ❕

Even with your kids!!

Say you plan a workout for the morning, before your kids are supposed to be up. But then they wake up, because they just always seem to know when you are taking time for yourself 😵‍💫

So what do you do? End your workout early and focus all on them feeling frustrated and slightly annoyed (it’s ok to admit here, it’s a safe space ☺️)??

OR do you set a firm boundary and tell them mommy is working out right now. Build them a bear cave, get them a snack, let them have some screen time, and get back to it! They will be ok. I promise.

I choose option 2!

Do you want your kids to grow up without boundaries? Or do we want to change the cycle now and teach them how to be good people while also taking care of their own needs, physically, mentally, and emotionally?

LOSING FAT can feel EASY and PAINLESS!

We're not meant to live our lives miserable and in pain (physically or mentally).
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
We CAN eat our favorite foods, we CAN work out for only 15 minutes at a time in our houses, we CAN go out to eat, we CAN miss a workout or 2 and STILL LOSE FAT!
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
It's all about working WITH your body and life, rather than against it, and giving both what they need to thrive.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
There is NO one size fits all answer or program.
