YASD Sea Dragons Swim Team

We are a USA-Swimming and Y-USA registered swim team governed by YMCA Alexandria, a branch of YMCA of Metropolitan Washington, located in Alexandria, VA.

Before there were Sea Dragons, there were Flying Fish. The YMCA of Alexandria has a rich history when it comes to aquatics. In the late 80s' and early 90s' the Flying Fish swim team, led by coach John Flanagan, were a nationally ranked team with Olympic hopefuls. In 1988, Michelle Griglione, 19, took a year off from Stanford to train at the Alexandria YMCA for the Olympics. She competed in the Oly
