While the ASP team was out at Game Unlimited catching the NSCA US Open, we couldn't pass up the chance to hand-deliver Steve Korin his 2026 Big Ole Open Championship trophy!

Congrats again, Steve and well earned!

It was great watching some of the best in the sport compete and even better getting to celebrate one of our own along the way.

The 1st Annual Big Ole Open is officially in the books.

Our first ever NSCA Registered Sporting Clays shoot at Alexandria Shooting Park, and honestly, we couldn't have asked for a better first one.

A big thank you to everyone who came out and supported it. We learned a lot, had a lot of fun, and met a bunch of great people along the way.

And congratulations to our first ever Big Ole Open Champion, Steve Korin!

We've got one more thing to do before we officially call this one done.

We're loading up the ASP team and heading to the US Open Sporting Clays shoot, and we're planning to hand-deliver Steve's trophy to him while we're there. We figured if we're going to make a trophy, we might as well make sure the guy who won it actually gets it.

We're excited about where this event can go. This was year one, and we've already got plenty of ideas for how to make the Big Ole Open bigger and better next year.

Today, history starts at ASP.

The Big Ole Open, our first-ever NSCA Registered Sporting Clays shoot is here.

We're excited to host sporting clays shooters from across the state and region for this 200 bird event.

One perpetual trophy will stay at ASP, while the other goes home with the High Overall Champion, the first name ever etched into Big Ole Open history.

Every tradition starts somewhere.

This weekend, it starts here.

You've heard us talking about sporting clays. You've seen us shooting sporting clays. You've maybe even shot sporting clays yourself. Now, we're ready to step our game up a bit.

August 7th through 9th, we'll be hosting our first-ever NSCA Registered Sporting Clays event at ASP. 200 birds, European-style. Shoot your 200 birds in one day, or split it across two, you decide.

$160 gets you the 200 targets.

Practice Weekend Hours + Trap House Reservations

We've already had a number of teams reach out about securing practice time before the Minnesota State High School Clay Target League Championship.

ASP will be open Saturday and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM for practice.

If your team would like to reserve a specific trap house and practice time, contact us before you arrive and we'll get you on the schedule.

Practice Round Pricing

• Pre-shoot and during shoot full rounds: $10 per round
• Mornings of the shoot (½ rounds): $5 per round
• During the championship: Practice rounds will be sold individually at the Rangehouse on the trap line

The Minnesota State High School Clay Target League Trap Championships return to Alexandria Shooting Park June 15–23, and we're proud to host the largest shooting event in the country alongside the USA Clay Target League.

Over nine days, thousands of athletes, families, coaches, and volunteers will gather in Alexandria for one of the premier events in youth shooting sports.

Before You Arrive

Practice Days — June 13 & 14
Practice shooting is available from 10 AM–6 PM. Full rounds are $10, with tickets available at the ASP Rangehouse.

Camping
On-site camping with water, electric hookups, and a dump station is available. Remember:
• Check-In: After 6:00 PM
• Check-Out: Before 6:00 PM
