The Lucky Coin Multisport Youth Triathlon race season kicks off in a little over three weeks at Stratford. There are only 18 entries left for Stratford and 19 for Waynewood. Riverside and Mount Vernon Park have not yet been capped but are filling.

Some racers have tiny bikes with baskets on the front and others hit the dismount line standing with both feet on one pedal ready to hit the ground running. Lucky Coin Multisport Youth Triathlon Series - Race One - Stratford The Lucky Coin Multisport Youth Triathlon Series - Race One - Stratford is on Sunday June 19, 2022.

Our last race of the season is Sunday and we still need volunteers. Even if you don't have kids racing, watching these little athletes is fun. Consider volunteering. No experience necessary.

These clinics line up nicely with out races. Trident continues to be a valued sponsor for our events and great group to be friends with. Transition is the hardest part for first time triathletes to understand and do well. I've seen Luke (Trident coach) in transition at races and wish I was as fast. CHECK out their clinics!

Summer Transition Clinic registration is now open! If you're new to Trident or new to the sport of Triathlon, this is for you! We are offering three clinics in June and July in conjunction with the Lucky Coin races. Practices will focus on beginner tri skills including transitions, bike skills, and race readiness, with essential race-day gear (race belt and shoe toggles) provided. Because of the current group gathering restrictions and the restrictions not scheduled to be lifted until four days before the Stratford race was originally scheduled, we have pushed it back a month to July 19. We hope things will be getting back to normal by then.

So now the first scheduled race of the season is July 5th at Waynewood. With the NVSL swim season cancelled, get your kids signed up for our races ASAP. I have ordered the medals for Waynewood so the event is capped at 50 participants. I also imagine with the disappointment of the NVSL cancellation, many of you are looking for a way to occupy some of your young athlete's time and energy this summer. One of our sponsors has written a training program designed to provide daily training activities to get the kids moving in place of swim practice. When you register for one of our races, you will see the add-on "Trident Training Plan." There is a $10 cost but well worth it. Luke and Liza (Trident Coaches) are USA Triathlon certified coaches and it is well worth the cost.

We will be adhering to any state mandated restrictions as well as USAT's guidelines for returning to racing. We are proceeding with permitting and USAT sanctioning with the expectation the races will go on. We may have to spread the morning timeline out a little to adhere to the restrictions or even postpone or cancel one or more events. In the event a rescheduled event does not work with your summer plans, we can offer an entry deferral to another 2020 race, one of the 2021 races or a refund. We can't refund the USAT membership fee ($10) or the small Run Sign Up processing fee.
