Today the Pinewood Lake Swim Team celebrates Juneteenth and Freedom for everyone.
On June 19, 1865, the last enslaved African Americans living in Galveston, Texas were told the Civil War ended; the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed in 1863 by President Lincoln; and all were now free from the bo***ge of slavery. This date came to be known as Juneteenth.

Officials Clinics are coming up. We need officials for the season. Please volunteer.
Calling all volunteers!! It’s time to start thinking about getting certified or recertified in critical positions needed to run a swim meet! We are happy to share that we have numerous opportunities for you to get certified or recertified in May and and June!
This weekend marks the start of our Officials Clinics series with New Referee Clinic at Hunt Valley and New/Recertification Stroke and Turn Clinic at Cottontail on Saturday, May 17th at 8am and New Starter Clinic at Parklawn on Sunday, May 18th at 8am! Also on Wednesday, May 21st we will have Recertification of Referee/Starter at Little Hunting Park at 7pm.
Rounding out our clinics in May will be NVSLU on Saturday, May 31st at the Fairfax County Government Center!! Please consider attending this event as we will have numerous clinics available: Referee, Starter, Stroke and Turn, Chief Timer, Hy-Tek, and Table Admin.
Various clinics are available in June!
