Arlington and Alexandria made the list for the top 25 most walkable cities and towns in America! See the complete list and rankings at the link below.
While today's heat index of 104 degrees may be a deterrent to being outside and exploring. When this heat wave finally breaks go outside for a walk. Better yet, Alexandria's Restaurant Week returns from August 16-25, 2024. Try a cooler night time walk after a great meal.
This is what they said about Alexandria and Arlington, VA.
"Alexandria is renowned for its well-preserved historic district, Old Town, which features cobblestone streets, waterfront parks, and a plethora of shops and restaurants. The cityβs layout encourages walking, and the presence of Metro stations makes it easy to navigate the entire Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.
Arlington is known for excellent public transportation and pedestrian-friendly streets. The town offers numerous walking paths, parks, and a vibrant downtown area. The proximity to Washington, D.C. further enhances the convenience and walkability."
