One month ago today, the Crooked Rooks hoisted the TWBL championship trophy for the first time in franchise history. Camden Allison and Jackson Richardson led the way during the Rooks’ dominant run to the title, earning Viyu Network Solutions Co-Postseason MVP honors.

Cam was the postseason’s premier two-way player, shutting down the league’s top offenses on the mound while elevating his hitting to another level compared to the regular season.

Jackson, meanwhile, went scorched earth in the batter’s box, putting together one of the greatest offensive postseason runs in league history.

The Crooked Rooks did the improbable, capturing the 2026 TWBL Championship as the No. 4 seed.

Their playoff run began with a thrashing of the Flying Turtles, continued with an impressive showing against the Blue Ballers, and ended with a dismantling of the Cosby Show in the championship series.

The Rooks faced nobody but the top three seeds on their road to the title, and they lost just once. A dominant 6-1 playoff run capped off an unforgettable season and crowned the Crooked Rooks 2026 TWBL Champions.

With Round 1 of the playoffs beginning today, it’s time for one final edition of the Power Rankings.

The Flying Turtles and Cosby Show enter the postseason as the favorites. D-Generation X is surging at the right time, while the Blue Ballers will look to flip the script after a July that fell short of their usual standards. The Cookie Monsters seem as likely as anyone to make a Cinderella run. The Crooked Rooks are ranked suspiciously low. Who’s Your Daddy has a history of breaking hearts in the playoffs. And the Pork Chops will look to shock the world by making it out of the first round.

After years of the voting not going his way, the player many believe should already be a multiple-time MVP has finally taken home the hardware. Congratulations to the 2026 MVP, Ian O’Hare!

The league’s premier two-way player put together the best offensive and pitching seasons of his career, leaving little doubt that he was the TWBL’s Most Valuable Player. At the plate, Ian posted a .622 OBP, .991 SLG, and 1.613 OPS, each ranking second in the league. On the rubber, he led the TWBL with a 0.55 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 35.4% K-BB rate, along with several other pitching categories. It was a season of dominance on both sides of the ball.

Absolute dominance. In what was arguably the greatest pitching season in Texas Wiffle Ball League medium-pitch history, the Flying Turtles’ ace put up mind-boggling numbers: a 0.55 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 35.3% K-BB rate. Simply unheard-of stuff. Congratulations to Ian O’Hare, the 2026 Cy Young Award winner!

As remarkable as those numbers are on their own, the context makes them even more impressive. Ian logged 28.1 of his 43.1 innings against the three best offenses he could face, shutting down the toughest lineups the TWBL has to offer.

Take a look at any offensive leaderboard, and you’re sure to find Nolan Chasak’s name at or near the top. Congratulations to the 2026 Silver Slugger, Nolan Chasak!

Nolan was the driving force behind the league’s most dangerous lineup, finishing with a league-leading 1.730 OPS—good for a 257 OPS+, the second-highest mark in league history. He also led the Texas Wiffle Ball League with a .650 on-base percentage, a 1.080 slugging percentage, and 96.2 runs created, cementing one of the greatest offensive seasons the league has ever seen.

When you look up “Pitcher’s Best Friend” in Oxford’s Historical Thesaurus of English, you very well might find a picture of the Crooked Rooks’ Captain. His range, versatility, and highlight-reel grabs were instrumental to his team’s run prevention all season long.

Nolan Chasak took the league by storm in 2026, transforming from a below-average hitter in 2025 into a bona fide superstar who saw his name at the top of almost every offensive category. After hitting seven home runs with an 82 OPS+ in his first full season, Nolan erupted for 15 home runs and a 257 OPS+, an unprecedented leap that the league may never see again.

When the Flying Turtles lost Ben Lee to retirement last offseason, many wondered if their elite lineup would finally take a step back. Instead, Nolan elevated his game, delivering one of the greatest offensive seasons in league history while continuing to provide great defense in the field.
