At a young age, Ali’s daughter was diagnosed with leukemia. Once she recovered, Ali enrolled her in gymnastics to help build her strength and get her body moving.

What started as a way to support her physical development quickly became something she loved. Along the way, gymnastics helped her build resilience, confidence, and strength both mentally and physically.

At Parkettes, the goal is to help athletes develop skills that extend far beyond the gym. Ali’s story is a reminder that gymnastics can become a foundation for confidence, perseverance, and lifelong growth.

They’re fighting their body instead of learning how to use it.

Not every great gymnast is built the same.

Some athletes are naturally powerful. Others are naturally flexible.

The best athletes learn how to maximize their strengths instead of constantly comparing themselves to somebody else.

Has summer boredom kicked in already?

At Parkettes, summer classes give kids the chance to stay active, build confidence, learn new skills, and have fun all summer long.

One of the things families love most about summer classes is the more personalized experience, giving athletes more opportunities to work with coaches, focus on their individual progress, and get a head start for the upcoming season.

Whether your child is just getting started or looking to continue growing their skills, summer is the perfect time to learn, move, and thrive.

Ready to make this summer their most active one yet?

Too many young athletes confuse performance with identity.

A bad routine does not make you a bad gymnast.
One of the biggest dangers in youth sports is when athletes begin tying their identity to scores, rankings, mistakes, and outcomes.
In this conversation, Dr. Charron Sumler, sports psychotherapist and Assistant Director of Sports Psychology at Ohio State University, explains why separating identity from performance is critical for both mental health and long-term success.
