On September 11th, 2001, we lost the Twin Towers to a horrible act of terrorism. This bike rack on Vesey Street was shielded from destruction by the 5 World Trade Center Building. Only one bike was ever reclaimed. It is assumed the owners of these bikes perished when the towers fell.
