GRA adds Joe Torres as new Pitching Instructor. Joe comes to Game Ready with a wealth of knowledge and experience in the game of baseball stemming from his decorated amateur career through his 14 plus years as a professional left-handed pitcher. As an amateur Joe was a 2-time Team USA Gold Medal Winner, which helped him get rated by Baseball America as the #1 16 year old in the country and the #2 17 year old (behind Joe Mauer). Armed with a live fastball that reached 97MPH and the best-rated Curveball in the draft, his performances vaulted him to the point where the Angels selected him in the 1st round (10th overall) in the 2000 draft.

Game Ready Athletics adds another strong Coach to their Staff as they introduce Chris George to the players last week at practice. Chris is a Marietta native and 4 Year Letterman at Wheeler High School in Marietta. He played College Baseball at Mississippi State under Ron Polk as a pitcher and a first basemen. Chris was selected to the USA Today Freshman All American Team 1989 and played in the College World Series in 1990 while at Mississippi State.

In 1991, Chris was Drafted by the New York Mets where he played minor league baseball as a left handed pitcher and was Coached by Jerry Koosman for two years while in the minor leagues.
Chris will be working with all our young pitchers giving lessons and instruction for their ongoing development. Please join GRA as we Welcome Chris to our Team!
