Jiu Jitsu doesn’t reward hard work - it rewards intelligently directed adaptive hard work. That means a very significant part of your work must be cognitive. You have to question, evaluate, propose and adapt based around the results you’re getting from the hard physical work. Hard physical work by itself does little to improve you - but combined with hard cognitive work that enables you to set directions and improve over time and it can transform you and make what seemed like impossible goals come within your grasp. It’s never over when the physical work is done - on the contrary - that’s when the next phase of hard work - evaluation and adaptation - begins

Super cool

Dave Mustaine just earned his BJJ black belt at 63. 🥋🎸

The Megadeth frontman didn’t start young, didn’t have free time, and trained through touring, injuries, and cancer… and still made it happen.

BJJ Black belt in his 60s. 😎

Proof that for the over-40 crew:
It’s never too late... It just takes consistency. I always remind my own students: “Consistency unlocks potential”
