A one-of-a-kind hockey ecosystem built around all the best parts of the game. Train. Compete. Belong.

One of the questions we’ve been getting the most lately is:

“Where did the vision for The Hockey Barn come from?”

It started with one question.

What are we playing for?

That question challenged us to think differently about hockey.

At times, hockey can become too focused on a scoresheet… instead of the players listed on it.

But what if hockey gave people something more?

• A deeper love for the game
• An environment that inspires growth
• A place where people become better players and better people
• A community where people belong

Over the last 26 years, that belief has shaped our founder’s coaching philosophy and approach to developing players.

It evolved into what we call The 3 Loves of Hockey:

• Love the Game
• Love the Environment
• Love Who You Become Through the Sport

That philosophy became a framework.

And eventually, that framework became The Hockey Barn.

An environment intentionally built to help people grow, connect, compete, and rediscover what makes hockey special.

Some things in hockey stay with you forever.

From the early to late 90s, I attended the Robby Glantz power skating camps.

Robby quickly became my favorite skills coach and, all these years later, he still holds that title.

What made him different wasn’t just the skating.

It was the energy. The positivity. The way he made everyone around him play better, feel better, and love the game a little bit more.

His impact didn’t stop with my playing career. It shaped how I’ve coached over the last 26 years and influenced a lot of what we’re building at The Hockey Barn today.

So getting to stand beside Robby this weekend and watch my own kids experience that same passion, teaching, and love for the game was pretty special.

And now seeing Ryan carrying that same standard forward as an incredible player, coach, and teacher… you realize great environments create great people.

We can’t wait to welcome Robby and Ryan back to Atlanta in August.

Until then… thank you both for continuing to grow the game and make people fall in love with hockey a little bit more.

CONGRATULATIONS, MAGS 🇩🇪

Please join us in congratulating Austin Magera on signing with the Nürnberg Ice Tigers in Germany’s DEL for the 2026/27 season.

Austin’s path has always been built through consistency, work ethic, and production and this next chapter is another exciting step in his professional career.

For those unfamiliar with the DEL (Deutsche Eishockey Liga), it is Germany’s top professional hockey league and one of the highest levels of professional hockey in the world outside of the NHL. The league attracts elite talent from around the globe and is known for its speed, skill, and high level of competition.

After an incredible season in Fort Wayne, Austin now takes his game to one of Europe’s premier professional leagues.

Before heading to Germany this summer, Austin will be sharing his knowledge, experience, and skill with players at The Hockey Barn. Our members will have the opportunity to learn directly from someone actively competing at the highest levels of professional hockey.

We are proud to support Austin as he continues his journey and can’t wait to see him battling it out in an Ice Tigers jersey next season.

Congratulations, Mags!

Special thanks to Ryan Glantz and Robby Glantz for stopping by The Hockey Barn while in Atlanta. Ryan couldn’t resist jumping out on the barn floor…even though he didn’t have skates with him.

What a treat to have these legends support growth and development in ATL.

Had the Goukler boys out to the barn for a skate. Absolutely awesome to see these guys playing together.

We will be cheering both of them on next season!

Davis heads out to Huntsville to lace up for the Havoc, and Luke heads to Merrimack College for his first NCAA season.

Having some fun testing out the toys!

This weekend (June 13 & 15) if you’re an adult player in Atlanta and you’ve been thinking about improving your skating… make the time.

My good friend Robby Glantz is hosting an Adult Power Skating Clinic, and I can tell you firsthand… this is one you do not want to miss.

Not only is Robby a friend of The Hockey Barn, but he also played a pivotal role in my own development back in the 1900s (yes… I’m dating myself a little).

Long before specialized training became what it is today, Robby was teaching skating mechanics, edge control, power, and efficiency at a level that changed how people thought about development.

See you at the rink.
