The San Diego SCI chapter is sponsoring a Youth Shooting Clinic on May 17th, 2026 to be held at the Lemon Grove Rod & Gun Club, located near Alpine CA. This event will expose our youth to the safe care and operation of both rifle and shotguns. Participants will shoot .22 caliber rifles from shooting benches at stationary targets, as well as shotguns, at moving clay targets. NRA certified Range Safety Officers will conduct gun safety training along with the proper handling and operation of both types of fi****ms. This is a FREE event for any youth and is a great opportunity to introduce today’s youth to fi****ms in a safe and controlled environment. There are a limited number of spots available so please do hesitate. All participants, shooters and others are required to sign the release of liability prior to the shooting event. Parents or Legal Guardians must also sign parental release form in addition to the release of liability form. Please register here:

Thank you to all of our participants who braved the rain to shoot today! While rain was definitely not on our agenda, we are so grateful to everyone who came out and made the day such a success.
A huge thank you as well to our 60 incredible volunteers who helped make this clinic possible—we couldn’t do it without you!
We hope everyone had a wonderful time, learned something new, and enjoyed the experience despite the weather.
Our next clinic will be held on Sunday, October 11. Registration will open sometime in August, so be sure to check back here for updates on when sign-ups go live.
Thank you again for your support—we can’t wait to see you next time!

Unfortunately, we recently lost a friend and one of our biggest supporters. Some of you may remember Rick from our clinics and he always ran shotgun. He also ran our Youth Trap program. To support his family, we will be hosting a fundraising event on Sunday, April 26.
If you enjoy shooting sporting clays, we would love for you to come out and join us in honoring his memory while helping his family. If you don’t shoot shotgun, then please share with those who do.

We have a special range day and benefit match fundraiser for Laura Smith (as she undergoes treatment for cancer), and Denise Brown (who lost her husband after a heart attack on Christmas Eve). All proceeds will be given to Laura and Denise. This event is open to the public, you must bring your own equipment. Please register.
Please bring plenty of cash!
We will have a variety of pay-to-play experiences, instructor-led learning, “challenge a buddy” competitions, trick shots, an opportunity drawing, event t-shirts, and tons of amazing silent auction items.
There will be snacks and drinks available for purchase, too!
These extra activities are not listed on Practiscore and will only be available for purchase at the event.
Folks can feel welcome to show up and check out the day-of experiences, participate in the auction, etc. without participating in one of our match offerings, but if you’d like to participate in a match, please read the below descriptions and then register for the appropriate match on Practiscore.
This is a benefit match, and we truly appreciate your participation and support.
Come ready to shoot, cheer on other shooters, and support two amazing ladies in our local shooting community.
Questions, please contact Dakota Adelphia - [email protected]

I had the incredible opportunity to attend CRPA WAVE (Women Armed to Vote & Educate) Capitol Day in Sacramento this week, and it was truly an eye-opening and empowering experience. I dont think we realize at times how important it is as women to make our voices heard and hear our stories.
Although the day was fast-paced, I learned a tremendous amount about advocacy and policy. During the day, our all women group met with 60 legislators to discuss the importance of women having access to fi****ms, receiving proper training, obtaining CCW permits in a timely and affordable manner, and ensuring the CCW list remains private, an especially important safety issue for women.
I’m incredibly grateful for the chance to learn, connect, and represent our community. Experiences like this remind me how important it is to stay informed, involved, and engaged. I am grateful to the San Diego Safari Club International board for nominating me to participate and for supporting opportunities like this that allow us to make a difference at the state level. Thank you to everyone who made this day possible, I’m proud to have been part of it and I cant wait to do it again!
