Non-Typical Outfitters NTO is one of western Wyoming's premier big game outfitters, offering mule deer, elk, black bear, antelope, predator hunts, and a guide school. Proverbs 21:31

"The horse is prepared for the day of battle, but the victory belongs to the LORD." The glow of the sunrise as you sit atop a high mountain peak, the warmth of the horse underneath you, an elk bugling in the distance, a sky full of countless stars, all leading to a moment you have dreamed about your entire life. A top western Wyoming trophy in your crosshairs. Let us help make your dream a reality! Whether your dream is to pull the trigger or help someone else to do so, you have come to the right place. From our amazing team of guides and horses, to our camp accommodations, we offer an experience like none other. We are the most diversified permitted outfitter in the Bridger-Teton National Forest. Our hunting area encompasses over 900 square miles of National Forest and close to double that in BLM lands. Most of our hunts are conducted out of a forest camp that has vehicle access. Non-Typical Outfitters is a permittee of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, and an equal opportunity provider.

Wide Load…

Another Wyoming giant we were blessed enough to pursue and harvest! This buck had it all, over 30 inches wide, heavy as can be, gorgeous in-lines, and a life changing experience for the hunter and the guide. The pursuit and harvest of this buck led people to dedicate their life to the Lord. That’s what it’s all about, giving glory to God!

What do you look for in a big buck? Mass? Width? Height?

Meet Griz…

Taking a break from our usual hunting and shooting content to introduce one of the newest and cutest members of the heard. Griz is one of our newest horses. Still just a baby learning all about the world. In a year or so he will learn how to be a pack horse on the string! For now we’re learning what humans smell and feel like.

Grey Ghost of the forest…

Mule deer hold a special place in our heart here at NTO. If you’ve ever hunted mule deer in the mountain west, you are no stranger to the difficulty that comes with hunting them. They blend in exceptionally well and can remain almost completely still for hours when bedded. Even when standing and investigating something they can remain perfectly still for astounding amounts of time. That’s why spotting these guys can be so frustrating.

Which is why our tip of the day is, CHECK AGAIN!! You might think you glassed everything but there’s a good chance a big buck could be lying right under your nose! Or, give us a call to do the spotting for you, we do it for a living!😉

Preparing for the hunt…

Imagine, you’ve got that buck of a lifetime in your scope at 400 yards. You’re breathing heavy, there’s a slight cross wind, you’re seated on the side of a hill at an awkward angle, and you squeeze the trigger un-phased. You make a perfect shot in imperfect conditions.

These are the high angle, high altitude, long range shots that we prepare you for at our shooting class. Giving you the confidence to connect with your target in even the most demanding situations.

There is no worse feeling than watching that buck walk away unscathed because you didn’t prepare properly. We’ve got a couple spots left in the class for this summer. Give us a call to make the most of your hunt! 307-654-0000

Soak it all in!

It is our belief that the full value of a hunt is found in embracing all the in-between moments. These moments paint the full picture of the experience. They are all a gift we have been given!
