Being good at baseball isn't good enough anymore. ⚾

Coach Mark is at the PBR Games watching some of the best high school players in the country.

These are seniors.

They've performed at showcases. They've put up numbers. They've competed at a high level. They've earned an invitation to this event.

And yet...

**Many of them still aren't committed to a college.**

That's how competitive college baseball has become.

You can't just be “pretty good.”

You can't just be a little above average.

**You have to stand out.**

Watching batting practice, I saw player after player who looked very similar.

Then one player stepped in.

He was hitting the ball on the screws.

Line drives.

Using the whole field.

And even among some of the best players in the country, **he stood out.**

That's the difference.

The small things. The finer details. The things you do better than everyone else.

That's what separates good players from elite players.

That's exactly what we're looking for with Ambassadors Baseball.

We're looking for hungry young players who have above-average ability and, more importantly, **want to be coached and developed.**

Not players who think they've already made it.

Not players who think a ranking means they're finished developing.

We're looking for 13-year-old players who want to put in the work now so that, when they reach an event like this, they're not just another player in the crowd.

**They're the player everyone notices.**

If you're a young player who wants to become elite, don't wait until you're 16 or 17 to start preparing.

Start now.

Want to know where some of the best young baseball players in the country come together? ⚾

Coach Mark is at the PBR National Championships at LakePoint Sports in Emerson, Georgia, and this event is something special.

Here’s why:

• Players are selected based on performance
• Teams are built by geography
• Players are tested on the 60-yard dash
• Ball exit velocity is measured
• Arm strength is tested
• Players compete against some of the best talent in the country
• Hundreds of college coaches are there watching

And one of the biggest opportunities?

Uncommitted seniors get another chance to show college coaches what they can do.

That's why I encourage young players to get into the system early.

You don't just want to play against kids you're comfortable competing with.

You want to challenge yourself against the best.

If you don't make it one year, you work, improve, and try again the next year.

That's how development happens.

And that's also the idea behind Ambassadors Baseball.

We're building teams across the country, starting at age 13, to identify some of the best players in each state and help develop them early.

The earlier you start preparing to compete at a high level, the bigger the advantage you can create.

Would you know WHY a coach would tell a batter, “Get something you can pull”? ⚾

Here’s the situation:

• Lead-off double
• Runner on second
• Left-handed hitter at the plate
• Early in the game
• no outs

The coach tells the batter to look for something he can pull.

Why?

Because the goal is to move the runner.

If you're a left-handed hitter, pulling the ball means hitting it toward the right side of the diamond.

That gives the runner a chance to advance from second to third.

Now you've got a runner on third with one out, and you're in a much better position to score.

That's baseball IQ.

It's not always about getting a hit.

It's about understanding the situation, knowing what your team needs, and executing the job you're being asked to do.

If that batter hits the ball to the left side and doesn't advance the runner, he may have gotten contact, but he didn't accomplish the job.

Young players need to learn more than mechanics.

Learn the game.

Understand WHY coaches make certain decisions.

Develop your baseball IQ.

Because the players who understand the game are the ones who can make better decisions when it matters.

If you're 12 years old today, you could be playing in front of college coaches in just four years. ⚾ I'm at the 17U PBR National Championships at LakePoint Sports, and this is the kind of environment many young players dream about.

But I want you to understand something:
You don't prepare for the job interview when you arrive. You prepare for it years before.

Don't just play games without thinking about where you're going.
Have a vision. Develop a plan. Prepare yourself.
Because when that opportunity comes, you want to be ready to crush the job interview.

Ever ask a young player who they're playing and get this answer:

“Who are we playing?” 🤔⚾

Coach Mark noticed something interesting at the 17U PBR National Championships at LakePoint in Emerson, Georgia.

Teams are coming from all over the country. College coaches are everywhere. The atmosphere is incredible.

But when he asks players who they're playing, many of them don't even know.

And honestly, that says something.

Knowing your opponent isn't just about scouting them. It's about being engaged in the game.

Pay attention. Know who you're facing. Understand the competition around you.

Because baseball isn't just about your individual performance. It's about competing, being prepared, and understanding the game.

After 20 years around baseball, Coach Mark still loves the game. And sometimes, the little things are worth paying attention to.

Want to know what college coaches are watching during batting practice? ⚾
It's not just home runs.
They're watching for:
• Bat speed
• Mechanics that work against velocity
• Consistent barrels
• Quality line drives
• The ability to use the middle of the field
And that's the big one.
Can you hit the ball where it's pitched?

Young hitters, stop worrying so much about hitting bombs right now. Build the swing that will work at the next level.

Get stronger. Develop your hands. Improve your mechanics.
Prepare for the pitcher you'll face tomorrow—not just the one you're facing today.

Young players, look around. ⚾ This could be your future.
I'm at LakePoint Sports, surrounded by players and college coaches. Most of these players are here because they want to play college baseball.

If you're 10, 11, 12, or 13, ask yourself: What am I doing now to prepare for this?
Playing travel baseball is only part of it.

You have to develop yourself for the level you're trying to reach so that when college coaches are watching, you're the player they want.

Don't wait until you're here to start preparing.
Are you preparing for the next level right now?

The best way to prepare for the next level is to start before you get there. I'm at the PBR Futures Games watching some of the best young players in the country compete in front of hundreds of college coaches.

That's a great opportunity—but you don't want your first exposure to this level of competition to come at 17. That's why we're building Ambassadors Baseball.

We're forming 13U teams in multiple states for above-average players who want to start preparing early, play elite competition, and learn what it takes to get to the next level.

It's faith-based, and I'm excited about what we're building.
Don't wait to prepare.

Adversity is coming. Nobody is immune to it. Injuries. Grades. Relationships. Illness. Setbacks you never planned for.

The question isn't whether adversity will come.
The question is: **Will you let it beat you, or will you let it improve you?**

One of my clients is facing an entire year away from baseball because of an injury. That's a tough chapter.

But one chapter doesn't have to define the whole book.
You can't always choose what happens to you. You can choose how you respond.

Embrace it. Learn from it. Get stronger.

Two kids I coached when they were young. Now they're playing against each other in the Major Leagues. ⚾ Cole Young with the Mariners. Sal Stewart with the Reds.
That's the dream.

But here's the message for every young player watching:
Don't give up on the dream.

Dreaming is easy. The work is what separates the dreamers from the players who actually give themselves a chance to make it. Those two kids had talent. They also put in the work.
