For Dogs Only - Alvin, TX

As the building was being constructed, several of us wanted to do something in memory of our friend, Denise Baden. We lost Denise unexpectedly in December 2024, and so she never got to see the dream of FDO come to fruition.

Denise loved running her Labs and Aussies at agility and rally trials. She was a member and volunteered at many A!Woof and NACDA shows, and also volunteered many hours for local therapy dog groups. Denise also had a passion for horses, and enjoyed spending time riding her horse, Quixote.

In her spare time☺️, Denise was also a Physician Assistant; she was always ready to listen to medical concerns about ourselves and our furry friends, and offer advice or assistance where needed.

In the spirit of Denise’s care for others and their medical needs, FDO has recently installed an AED. We are thankful for donations that helped make this happen, and – above all – thankful that we had Denise as a kind, calming presence and a supportive friend.

SpeedWay is a relatively new event in which dogs run 100-yard courses consisting of only tunnels, hoops, and/or barrels – there are no jumps or contact equipment, making it friendly for young and old dogs alike. It’s a low-pressure, relaxed environment, and a great introduction for dogs and people that are new to the competition ring. It's a great stepping stone to agility - learn to use basic handling skills while working on low-impact equipment.

⭐️Basic Obedience Skills, Tricks, & CGC Prep - Foundations
Thursdays @ 5:30pm beginning July 9th
Instructor: Carolyn Ormrod Tan
$120 per 4 weeks
Students will build a solid foundation in everyday obedience, learn fun tricks, and prepare for the AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) test. Will be followed by another 4 week session in August.

⭐️Puppy/Young Dog/Novice Dog Foundation Agility
Tuesdays @ 5pm beginning August 4th
Instructor: Kelsey Kirkpatrick
$225 per 8 weeks
Students will work on recalls, cone/wing wraps, tunnels, and intro to handling on the flat, up to sequencing and handling jumps and tunnels!

In addition to AKC agility trials and flyball tournaments, FDO will also be the host for A!Woof CPE Agility and SpeedWay Trials.

CPE Agility will be held July 10-12 (Friday-Sunday)... yep, IN THE A/C..... with a fun judge, JoLee Yeddo! (link to premium in comments below).

If you've never run CPE agility, you will need to register yourself and your dog (link in comments below).

CPE has 7 different classes:
*Standard - like a normal standard course with contacts
*Jumpers - numbered course with jumps and tunnels only
*Jackpot - has a distance challenge, like FAST or Gamblers
*Snooker - everyone's favorite, LOL! Similar to UKI or USDAA Snooker.
*Full House - make up your own course and gather the points needed for your level
*Wildcard - a numbered course with options in 3 different places
*Colors - 2 numbered courses intertwined - pick one and run!
