IN HIS OWN WORDS // "The Victor says, "One day, there will be no more tears, and no more death, because I have conquered." This scene reminds us that it's not that we've done anything to deserve heaven, it's that He has paid the incredible price of dying on the cross. He endured such great pain to free us from death so that we can live forever with Him. His resurrection proves that death does not have the final word. He conquered the Leviathan."

IN HER OWN WORDS // "Dancing the role of The Accuser has been a weighty experience. Everyone has had hard seasons, both short and long periods, and it is challenging to play a character who is intent on only stealing, killing, and destroying. Many dancers try to understand who they are playing to fully characterize their performance, but no human can understand the mind of the devil or the full extent of the spiritual battles raging daily. It has been truly humbling to study the book of Job and to see the hardships he worshiped through. To remember that even though I mourn for Job, for family, friends, and myself when there are tribulations, and I curse the devil for his evil plans that hurt, I still daily choose to follow that same devious Satan instead of the way my loving God laid out for me. I also realize that I can relate to the Accuser's character more than I expected. I constantly believe I am in control of my life, dethroning God in my heart and thinking I know a better way than he does. I can’t express how thankful I am that I lose, both as the accuser and as myself. Satan appears so powerful, able to reach out and demolish everything Job holds dear, but God is so much more sovereign than Satan’s will or our flesh. So as I dance this character, I remind myself that the accuser is only allowed to touch what God allowed, and revel in the fact that the King of Kings loves me enough to defeat death."

IN HIS OWN WORDS // "Dancing as The Spouse has taught me something deeply personal: no matter how tough life gets, I need to always honor God. There are times when I feel upset with Him, but I’ve learned that I should never disobey or curse Him. Reading about Job for the first time really opened my eyes—his story showed me that God is especially close to those who are hurting. I hold onto this promise from Psalms 34:18: “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” It’s a comfort that feels real in my own struggles."

Dancing the role of The Accuser has definitely been a tough one for me. It has been hard to have such a
deceiving demeanor while I dance but it has shown me that even though Satan is so terrible to Job, God is still watching over him and even tells Satan, “You must spare his life.” God wouldn’t let Satan do more than He knew Job could handle, and even though Job couldn’t see what God was doing He still trusted God’s plan through it all! It definitely makes me want to have faith just like Job’s!

IN HIS OWN WORDS // "Playing the role of The Victor has been a very eye-opening experience. It’s a heavy scene where you understand all of the emotion that Jesus went through as He sacrificed Himself for us. Yet, Jesus did not just die for us; He claimed victory over death and set us free from the bo***ge of sin. The role of The Victor serves to remind us that we are not enough but Christ Jesus is."
