Week 6 Notebook
- Not a great game for either QB. Both Bo Nix and Sam Darnold look like they are coming back to reality and that reality is they were both below average QBs that benefitted from great defenses and a either a star reciever or running back
-I want to highlight Jaylin Noel, man there were questions about him in this offense but the last two weeks he has shown to be a difference maker and one of the reasons that the Texans have found the ability to create explosive plays
-The Colts allowed 26 points in the 2nd half to the lowest scoring team in the league. Whatever shine the Colts might have had is gone. This defense is a mess and if the Colts cant put it together on the offense then it might be time to have conversations about Shane Steichen
-The Browns are now in 1st place which is wild. The stats may not be impressive but Deshaun Watson is leading this team back to relevance and looking like the most put together team in the North at the moment
- The Falcons tried but the Bears with Caleb Williams back, morphed into the unstoppable offensive force they looked like in Week 1.
-The Eagles are a total mess. Yes, I know that they are without Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley but the problems have been there for this team for a while. I truly believe its Nick Siriani's last year
-Get right game for the Saints as the Giants are spiraling deeper into a collapse for John Harbaughs first year. JJ McCarthy came in for Jameis Winston and threw for 240 yards in 11 minutes. But it wasnt enough
-Drake Maye puts together a solid performance as the Patriots hang one on the Jets. Im still not sold on the Patriots being a true contender in the AFC, but Drake Maye has performed well recently
-I still really like Jalon Daniels but he very much looked like a rookie today. The Steelers battled back in what was on its way to being an embarrassing loss for them.
-The Chargers are the worst team in the league, and that includes a league where the Miami Dolphins exist. Justin Herbert looks nowhere near a top 10 QB. In fact he looks like a QB brought in to fill the position to help get a better 1st round pick so a team can find their QB of the future.
-Another competitive loss for the Raiders, Kirk Cousins is still playing well but its becoming more and more apparent that the Raiders still need another year.
-The Cardinals beat the Rams without scoring a TD. LA might be one of the bigger disappointments seeing as how they were odds on favorites for the Super Bowl. Im not sure if Myles Garrett coming back is going to help this defense make the stops they need to make
-The defense was already awful but now the offense is sinking as well. The Cowboys have now dropped 2 in a row to teams they should be beating even with a subpar defense Dak Prescott went from being very careful and decisive with the ball to 4 INTs in the last 2 games, not time to hit the panic button, but someone is standing by it getting ready.
-Gotta give the Commanders credit. This looked like a blowout at half, but the defense buckled down and helped Jayden Daniels fight back in this game. Injuries played a part on both sides but this is where the 49ers ability to overcome the injuries put them over the top
