Each mat holds a different story, a reason why someone shows up.

Some are looking to try new things. Some are seeking their own peace. Some aim to build strength. Others are searching to find themselves.

We never truly know what someone else is carrying, which is why showing up matters.

When you show up for yourself, you show up for someone else.

Someone who needs the reminder; the gentle push; the nudge out of the nest; the kindness of a hello or smile.

The mat has become more than just a mat; it's a mirror for some, a gentle landing, or a starting point for what comes next.

Here, on the mat, and at our studio, you are welcome exactly as you are. πŸ’œ

According to the CDC, in 2024, over 14.3 million American adults seriously contemplated su***de. If you are someone who is surviving the loss of a friend or loved one to su***de, contemplated it yourself, or have survived attempts, it would be our honor to have you at our special fundraising event, Here to Stay.

100% of the donations raised from this event will go to Su***de Awareness Voices of Education (SAVE).

At Here to Stay, we hope to gather as a community for a chance to breathe, move, and connect. A chance to grieve with others and find comfort in support and practices that promote presence.

Donation-based: Minimum donation of $10 to attend.

The Yoga Sutras are a text comprised of 4 padas, or chapters, that discuss the teachings, benefits, science, and philosophy of yoga that is over 4,000 years old.

Let's break down the second sutra:

Yogah: union, to yoke
Citta: mind, consciousness, the mental field
Vritti: modifications, fluctuations, thought patterns
Nirodhah: control, restraint, stalling

The goal in yoga is not to have no thoughts β€” it's purely to be present. You may have already experienced the stilling of the mind.

The blissful stillness in svasana after asana.
The quietness of thought in the early morning.
Or maybe even just passing moments of mindful breaths or action.

This sutra is considered to be the basis of Patanjali’s entire works; the explanation of what yoga is.

So remember, the goal is to not be thoughtless, but to be thoughtful of your thoughts, emotions, and experiences.

We cultivate inner peace, so we may experience peace in the world and our lives.
