STRONG DOESN’T ALWAYS MEAN POWERFUL. 💥

A strong athlete can produce force.

A powerful athlete can produce that force FAST.

These four ballistic med-ball exercises teach athletes to transfer force from the ground, through the hips and trunk, and into the upper body:

1. Bench-supported overhead toss
2. Tall-kneeling overhead soccer toss
3. Single-leg plant overhead toss
4. Diagonal med-ball toss

The weight room builds the engine. Ballistic training teaches athletes to use it explosively.

Save this for your next power day—and send it to an athlete who needs more explosiveness.

Which exercise are you adding first? 👇

UPPER-BODY POWER DEVELOPMENT FOR BASEBALL PLAYERS ⚾️💥

We start with the neutral-grip dumbbell press:

4 sets × 8 reps
4-second eccentric
Control the weight, tap the shoulders, then drive up aggressively.

That slow eccentric develops control and strength before the athlete produces force concentrically.

Then we take that strength and teach the athlete to express it with hip-loaded med-ball chest tosses.

Start with the hips high. Load the hips as the ball drops toward the chest, then fire through the floor and explode through the hips and upper body.

Control the load. Produce force. Move explosively.

SINGLE-LEG VERTICAL DAY ⚡️

We started with single-leg knee-to-chest hurdle hops—an advanced movement that demands elasticity, coordination and the ability to apply force quickly.

The athletes who handle this movement well are often your faster athletes: 4.4 speed, sub-1.00-second flying 10s and high-level reactive ability.

From there:

• Single-leg knee-to-chest forward jumps
• Depth drops into explosive single-leg jumps
• Single-leg takeoff with an opposite-leg landing
• Max-effort single-leg vertical jumps

The goal is rate of force development: produce as much force as possible in the shortest amount of time.

Fast off the ground. Explosive off one leg. Control the landing.

QUICK TWITCH DAY ⚡️

Speed starts with the nervous system.

Today’s session focused on rapid foot contacts, hip speed, and reactive movement—developing the quickness athletes rely on when every split second counts.

Plate In & Outs — fast feet and coordination.
Hip Flips — quick transitions and body control.
Plate Hip Switches — rapid hip exchange and reaction.
2-Foot On & Offs — elastic contacts and foot speed.
Quick Foot Taps — rhythm, balance, and fast turnover.

The fastest athletes aren’t always the strongest—they’re the ones who can react, switch, and accelerate in an instant.

Train fast. React faster.
Come train with us.

🔥 Speed Wins Games

Steal starts aren’t just about being fast — they’re about timing, angles, and explosive first steps.

We’re breaking down:
✅ Body position
✅ Weight distribution
✅ First two power steps
✅ Reading the pitcher

Because the first 10 feet matter most.

Train smart. Move fast. Dominate the basepaths. 🥎💨

**Inside Atlas Athletics 🎙️ Mic’d up coaching linear acceleration — building speed one rep at a time.
No shortcuts. Just work. ⚡️

Today’s speed series:
• Heavy sled pushes (120% BW)
• Banded piston runs
• Broad jumps over mini hurdles
• SL high demo**

Here working our baseball steals starts with opening our hip toward the base and now with the hip being internally rotated we can get from point at to point b.
