My name is Jerry Morales, and I would be honored to have your vote for Judge of Potter County Court at Law 2. I've practiced law in Amarillo since 2009, a year after my graduation from the University of Texas School of Law in 2008. I was born and raised here in Amarillo. I am mar
ried to Branda Morales, and we're blessed to have three amazing little girls, and a boy on the way. I believe I am uniquely qualified to serve my community in this position for several reasons. First and foremost I am a very hard working individual. I worked 30 to 40 hours a week while attending Texas Tech University where I received my Bachelor's degree Magna Cum Laude majoring in Political Science, eventually earning admission into one of the top law schools in the country. I've always striven to perform to the best of my abilities and I would take the same approach if afforded the opportunity to serve Potter County Court at Law 2. Second, my role as judge would be one of service, an area in which I've devoted much of my time throughout my life. I've served a board member for several service oriented organization such as The Wesley Community Center, Teen Christmas, and Drug Free Teens to name a few. I am also a member of Rotary International, and frequently participate as a coach for youth sports teams. Finally, for the last 9 years I've run an efficient highly effective law practice focusing on the two areas of law most commonly heard before Court 2, family and criminal law. I've represented hundreds of clients in various criminal matters from Class C misdemeanors to first degree felonies. I am a board member of the Panhandle Family Law Association and represent clients with all aspects of family law issues, including divorce, custody, and child support issues. This experience can be quickly utilized in Court 2 because it has jurisdiction over half of the misdemeanor charges presented in Potter County, and also has a substantial family law docket. Thank you for reading, and considering me, Jerry Morales, for Judge of Potter County Court at Law 2 when you vote on March 6.
