🌄 Adventure awaits in the Missouri Ozarks! 🌲

Join Iowa State Adventure for a weekend of swimming, exploring, camping, and soaking in the beauty of the Ozark Mountains! We’ll visit Johnson’s Shut-Ins, explore Elephant Rock and Meramec Caverns, and wind down around the fire as the sun sets.

⏰ Registration Deadline: September 16
📍 Pre-Trip Meeting: September 21

Trips include transportation, food at the destination, technical equipment, logistics, reservations, and a trip leader. Sign up through our website or in persona at State Gym and make some memories in the Ozarks!

Wilderness First Aid Workshop

When 911 isn’t an option, knowing what to do can make all the difference.

Join Rec Services November 7–8 for a hands-on Wilderness First Aid Workshop focused on the skills needed to care for an injured person in a remote setting. Expect some lecture time, but most of the workshop will be spent practicing through realistic mock scenarios.

-Learn essential wilderness first aid skills
-Hands-on practice & mock scenarios
-NOLS WFA Certification upon completion

Grab a partner and compete in Iowa State Rec Services’ annual Bag Toss Tournament!

📅 Tuesday, Sept. 1 or Wednesday, Sept. 2
📍 SE Intramural Fields — across from Jack Trice Stadium
👥 Teams of 2 — any combination of players welcome!
🏆 Each team will play at least two matches

Whether you call it bag toss or co****le, come toss some bags, compete for the championship, and have some fun!

Tournament brackets take approximately 2 hours from the first round through the championship, so plan accordingly if you’re also signing up for Spikeball.

Grab a partner and hit the court for Iowa State Rec Services’ Intramural Spikeball Tournament! Spikeball is a fast-paced, 2-on-2 game where teams rally by hitting the ball onto a small circular net — quick reactions, teamwork, and a little competitive energy go a long way! 🔥

👥 Teams of 2
🏆 Recreational & Competitive Divisions
⏱️ Each tournament bracket runs approximately 2 hours

Recreational Brackets
• Tues., Sept. 1 | 6–8 PM
• Tues., Sept. 1 | 10 PM–Midnight
• Wed., Sept. 2 | 6–8 PM
• Wed., Sept. 2 | 8–10 PM

Competitive Brackets
• Tues., Sept. 1 | 8–10 PM
• Wed., Sept. 2 | 10 PM–Midnight

Only 16 teams per bracket! Spots are first come, first served, so sign up ASAP to get the bracket you want.

Leave campus behind and hit the trails for an unforgettable backpacking adventure at Indian Cave! From scenic forest trails and unique rock formations to camping beneath the stars, this is the perfect chance to unplug and experience the great outdoors.
