Donut Run 5k

Donut Run 5k The Donut Run 5K is the only race around where you are rewarded for eating donuts! Some overflow parking will be available on side streets.

This annual event will occur on Saturday April 25th, 2026 this year at the Maple Shelter at Brookside Park in Ames, IA. Each donut you eat at the Donut Run 5k aid stations takes additional time off of your finishing time. Careful though--we enforce the Chucky rule which states that anyone who loses his donuts before the finish line starts his or her count over at zero! We award runners in the following categories: Best Run Time (Men & Women), Best Doughnut Adjusted Time (Men & Women), Most Doughnuts Eaten, Best Costume, and Top Team Score. Parking will be available in the Lake Ada Hayden Park parking lot on a first come first serve basis.
