HELP ME HELP YOU. One of the most underrated methods in efficient movement for athletes is SELF COACHING & CUES. What i say, you repeat and say to yourself.
There is a reason your coaches and trainers have these weird metaphors and coaching cues that you can relate to when you hear them. For example, “SIT IN THAT CHAIR!” When we see you squatting. No, we don’t mean actually sit in a chair but the action of sitting in a chair results in an optimal squat. A reminder of theta you do daily throughout the day.
Now the difference between the average and the elite athletes is that they give themselves those cues through each and every rep constantly creating the repetition MENTALLY before PHYSICALLY and then tying it all together chasing perfect movement patterns.
The next time you’re at practice and at the gym, talk yourself through each and every movement. The mind is a very powerful tool and your body will do whatever it tells it to do. The more you cue, the more natural these movements become. This results in quicker reactions when it comes time to perform these movements on the big stage.🙌🏾

Before the day ends, a year ago today I sent my best friend home 😇 🐶. Honestly I neglected the thought all day just so i could make it through a normal work day and handle my obligations. Getting home and looking at you sitting on the shelf has to be one of the hardest yet comforting things i can do now days. The joy you brought me was second to none and if you could see the things I’m doing now, you would be spinning 100mph just like you use to. The gym i use to walk you by is now mine and the doors are open changing lives day in and day out. Mom and day miss you dearly and say hello to your portrait every Sunday when they come workout. Your food kibbles and hair still turn up on us weekly. The glitching light in the kitchen here and there after you passed we know it’s you following to bed per usual. You will never be forgotten baby boy, thank you for the memories, they flood my phone daily and i can now laugh and smile at each one. It never gets easy and I’m ok with that, just know your dad loves you and there will never be another one like you puppy! REST IN LOVE JAB
