DAY 16 — MOVE WITH A FRIEND
Connection Through Movement
Today, let's bring a little connection into our yoga practice.
Yoga doesn't always have to be something we do alone. Moving and breathing alongside someone else can create a sense of connection, playfulness, and support.
Today, find a friend, partner, family member, or fellow student and try a simple Partner Tree Pose.
You don't have to have perfect balance. You might wobble. You might laugh. That's part of it!
Sometimes connection means simply knowing that someone is there to help steady you.
And if Tree Pose isn't comfortable for you, try standing side by side in Mountain Pose, gently connecting hands, and taking a few breaths together.
Today's challenge: Find someone to practice with and notice what changes when you aren't practicing alone.
Who will you invite to move with you today?
Type “I did it” in the comments if you're practicing connection today!

DAY 15 — WARRIOR I
Strong • Grounded • Connected
Let's practice a strong, grounding pose: Warrior I.
From standing:
Step one foot back into a comfortable lunge.
Bend your front knee as much as feels good.
Root through both feet.
Reach your arms overhead or hands at your heart.
Take 3–5 slow breaths. Then switch sides.
As you hold the pose, notice the connection:
Feet to the earth • Breath to movement • Body to mind.
Warrior I reminds us that being strong doesn't mean being rigid. We can be grounded and open at the same time.
Today's challenge: Hold Warrior I on each side and notice where you feel strong, where you feel grounded, and where you can soften. Maybe practice with a friend.
Connect with yourself. Connect with your breath. Be present.
If you practice Warrior I today, type “I did it” in the comments or post a picture.

DAY 14 — YOGA IS BETTER TOGETHER

Today begins Bring a Friend to Yoga Week!

Your challenge is simple: Invite someone to practice with you.

A friend.
A family member.
A neighbor.
A coworker.
Or someone who's always said, “I've always wanted to try yoga.”

You don't have to practice alone. Connection is part of the practice.

Yoga gives us a chance to move, breathe, laugh, encourage one another, and simply share a moment together.

So today, think of someone who might enjoy yoga with you—and invite them.

Who came to mind? Send them this post!

BRING A FRIEND TO YOGA WEEK!
September 14–18
Yoga is even better when we share it.
This week, I’m inviting you to bring a friend to Zen House Yoga!
Do you have a friend, sister, neighbor, coworker, or family member who has been curious about yoga?
This is their week to come try it with you.
No yoga experience is needed. No need to be flexible. Just come as you are.
A special invitation:
If you’re not currently signed up for a Zen House Yoga session, you and a friend can drop in and practice together for the price of one!
Come together. Move together. Breathe together. Connect.
Message me if you'd like to bring someone along, in-person or on Zoom!
Who are you going to bring? Send them this post.

DAY 13 — SAVASANA

Rest is part of the practice.

If you've taken a yoga class with me, you probably know that Savasana is a favorite pose for many students.

But Savasana is more than simply lying down at the end of class.

After we move, stretch, strengthen, balance, and breathe, Savasana gives the body and mind a chance to release, rest, and integrate the practice.

There is nowhere to go.
Nothing to accomplish.
Nothing to fix.

Just rest.

Try it today: Lie comfortably on your back, close your eyes, and allow yourself 3–5 quiet minutes to simply be supported and breathe.

Savasana reminds us that rest isn't the absence of practice. Rest is part of the practice.

Is Savasana one of your favorite yoga poses?

DAY 12 — PRACTICE PRESENCE

Mindful Everyday Activity

Today, choose one ordinary activity and give it your full attention.

Sip your coffee or tea.
Savor a glass of w**e.
Eat a meal.
Work in your garden.
Wash the dishes.
Talk with someone you love.

Instead of rushing through it, slow down and be completely there.

Notice the sights, sounds, smells, textures, and sensations. Notice your breath. Notice how it feels to give one simple moment your attention.

You don't need a yoga mat to practice yoga.

One ordinary moment can become a yoga practice when we bring our full attention to it.

And if you're joining me for Rose' & Namaste this Saturday, you'll have another opportunity to practice being fully present—on the mat and while savoring a little w**e and connection. 🍷

Where will you practice presence today?

If you do, text "I did it" in the comments!

TREE POSE: FIND YOUR BALANCE

Today, let's practice Tree Pose.

Find a comfortable standing position and take a moment to feel your feet connecting with the ground.

When you're ready:

Shift your weight into one foot.
Bring the other foot to your ankle, calf, or thigh—wherever feels comfortable.
Reach your arms upward or bring your hands to your heart.
Take a few slow breaths. Then switch sides.

Need a little extra support? Use a wall or chair.
And if you wobble, that's okay! Balance isn't about being perfectly still. It's about noticing, adjusting, and finding your center again.

That's true on the yoga mat—and often true in life, too.

Your challenge today:
Practice Tree Pose on each side and notice the difference.

Then ask yourself: "Where can I find a little more balance today?"

Maybe it's in your schedule.
Maybe it's in your thoughts.
Maybe it's in making time for yourself.

Pause. Notice. Adjust. Find your center.

If you practice Tree Pose today, type "I did it" in the comments!
