Manager Spotlight - Junior Addie Perry likes to take charge and managing two teams of hockey players requires that kind of tenacity to keep the show on schedule. She does such a good job, we let her choose the photo we used for her spotlight. And she chose this one with her Dad Phil (She chose the song too!). A diehard hockey fan, Phil and his wife Nicole never miss a Bears hockey game now that Addie runs the show! Addie joined the program in 2024 and immediately took a leading role in keeping coaches, players and even the booster guy on task. She shines on Gamedays and never misses practice. She makes sure the players that forgot essential items at gametime had spares awaiting them so they could play. Repairing helmets, managing inventory, and directing players to assist with any and all hockey related tasks on and off the ice is fun to watch. Sometimes you just gotta laugh with how well they respond to her directions. 😂. We celebrate on ice accomplishments regularly on this page, but it doesn’t happen without the critical support provided by our team manager. You’re a rockstar Addie!

Player Spotlight - Freshman Jacey Halpin embodies BHS hockey’s mission. Jacey told coaches she’d never played an organized sport or been part of a team before joining BHS hockey. And while the learning curve is steep for this game, Jacey kept showing up and working on getting better. We are so happy Jacey chose BHS Hockey as her team! (Huge thanks to Northern Energy Services for the New Jerseys this season and all our sponsors who help us outfit players in hockey gear each season to provide this opportunity to play.)

Player Spotlight - Sophomore JV Captain Mike Davidson supposedly played hockey at a young age but didn’t put skates back on until joining the BHS Hockey team this season. If you saw a before-season and after-season clip of Mike skating, you might not think they were the same player. Mikes advancement is kind of insane. Early in the season he used his stick as a crutch and then by season end he was probably one of the fastest skaters on the ice in a straight line. That growth in part due to many hours of outside skating at Anchorage rinks in addition to BHS practice. Mike’s development is eye popping and we can’t wait to see how his Junior season unfolds.

Player Spotlight - Sophomore Tyler Robert’s started playing hockey last season and has developed quite the wrist shot in just a few seasons with the Bears. Tyler lead the Bears JV in goals scored this season! He also earned the nickname brickhouse as most players just bounce off him when they try to lay a check on him. Tyler is finding out he really likes hockey and will be playing Spring leagues here over the next few months in hopes of continuing to build on his hockey skill set. (Huge thanks to Northern Energy Services for their generous donation of new hockey jerseys for the program!)

Welcome to our future Class of 2030 BHS Hockey Players! Come say hi!

Player Spotlight - Freshman Chloe Siems added her name to the roster early in the season following the footsteps of her older brother Curtis who played for the Bears over the course of the last four seasons as a bottle popping goal scorer. One thing the siblings share is effortless speed when skating a sheet of ice. Chloe created many of her own breakaway opportunities this season as a star for the JV roster putting pressure on opposing goalies. She suited up for a number of Varsity contests as a freshman and provided important shifts to give more seasoned teammates important rest. We are excited about Chloe’s growth after just one season with this Bears program. (Big thanks to Northern Energy Services for their very generous donation of New Jerseys for the program)

Player Spotlight - Sophomore Beth Kelly - Kelly joined BHS boys hockey last season looking for a challenge and has one of then proceeded to score one of the longest distance goals ever for BHS. A half-ice wrister that went 5-hole on the goalie. She’s another tough kid that isn’t afraid of the physicality of boys hockey and has really improved over these last two seasons! (A huge thanks to Northern Energy Services for donating New Jerseys to the program this season!)
