Hourglass divisions include Run, Ruck, Hybrid, and Walk, making it possible for participants of different experience levels and abilities to take on the challenge in the way that works best for them.

All Toughest Alive events are family-friendly, and kids are welcome to participate and be part of the experience. Bring your family, friends, and community to cheer each other on, take on a challenge, and celebrate every finish.

You don’t have to be the fastest.
You don’t have to be an elite athlete.
You just have to be willing to show up.

So many people have asked what shoes Doss wore during her first 100-mile race at just 12 years old—so here they are! 👟💯

She rotated between three pairs throughout the race: a pair of HOKA and two pairs of Brooks Running

Three pairs of shoes carried her through different parts of those 100 miles—but the strength, grit, and determination inside them were all hers.

Mile after mile, she just kept showing up until all 100 were complete. ❤️

🚨 SEATTLE—ARE YOU READY TO RACE THE HOURGLASS? 🚨

The Toughest Alive Hourglass is coming to the Seattle area—and there’s a Kids Division, too!

🏃 RUN
🥾 RUCK
🚶 WALK
🔥 HYBRID — run plus 10 burpees each round
🌟 KIDS DIVISION — a challenge designed specifically for younger athletes

Everyone begins together. Complete your loop within 30 minutes and you advance—but the clock gets one minute faster every round.

Go one round. Go five. Stay until the clock finally catches you.

Bring the whole family. Kids get the chance to test themselves, build confidence, and experience the same incredible encouragement as the adults.

This event is for ordinary people of all ages ready to discover they’re capable of something extraordinary.

Teaching our girls how to fuel properly during their runs is incredibly important to us—but so is teaching them how to hydrate properly and replace the electrolytes and sodium their bodies lose along the way.

LMNT was an important part of both girls’ fueling and hydration plans when 12-year-old Dossie completed 100 miles and 10-year-old Sophia completed 50 miles. We truly believe staying consistent with their hydration, electrolytes, and sodium played a huge role in helping them accomplish those incredible distances—and recover remarkably well afterward.

In fact, just three days later, both girls were back on the field playing in their soccer game!

Thank you, , for creating products we trust and for sending the girls this amazing box to celebrate their accomplishments. They were so excited to receive it, and we are incredibly grateful for your support!

🔥 IDAHO—ARE YOU READY TO SHOW US YOUR GRIT? 🔥

Toughest Alive GRIT Night is coming to Meridian, Idaho!

📅 Friday, November 20
⏰ Friday evening
📍 Meridian, Idaho

This is not your average Friday-night party.

It’s part race, part fitness challenge, and part last-one-standing showdown.

Every 15 minutes, the horn sounds. Your mission:

🏃 Run 1 mile
🔥 Return to the GRIT zone
💪 Complete the burpee broad jumps
⏱️ Beat the next 15-minute horn

Round 1 starts with a 5-meter distance. Each round, the cone moves another 5 meters farther.

Round 1: 5 meters
Round 2: 10 meters
Round 3: 15 meters
Round 4: 20 meters
…and it keeps going.

Make it back before the horn, and you earn another round. Miss it, and you’re out—but you can join the crowd cheering on everyone still in the fight.

The course gets longer. The clock doesn’t. The field gets smaller. The cheering section gets bigger.

Until one athlete remains.

🏆 LAST ONE STANDING WINS.

You do not need to be an elite athlete. Fast runner, slow runner, CrossFitter, rucker, weekend warrior, or someone just getting back into shape—there’s a starting line for you.

There’s no minimum number of rounds. Make two. Make six. Or keep going until everyone else taps out.

Come for the party. Leave with a story.

Bring your family, friends, and a chair. Cheer for competitors, celebrate last-second saves, and watch the crowd grow louder with every round.

GRIT Night is capped at three hours. If multiple athletes survive the final scheduled round, we’ll settle it with a final showdown.

Want to make it a full weekend?

🔥 FRIDAY NIGHT: GRIT
Run. Burpees. Broad jumps. Beat the horn. Last one standing.

SHOW UP.
STAY IN THE FIGHT.
GIVE GENEROUS ENCOURAGEMENT.

Are we surrounding ourselves with people who encourage us, challenge us, and build us up?

Or are we allowing our limited bandwidth, time, and energy to be consumed by things that are negative, distracting, and ultimately going nowhere?

But here’s the harder question:

Are we willing to make the healthy choice when the unhealthy one is easier?

To protect our time and energy from people and things that constantly drain it?

To put down the phone.

To get outside.

To train.

To eat better.

To sleep.

To choose relationships that make us stronger.

To chase difficult things, fail sometimes, get back up, and keep moving forward.

08/14/2026

Progress isn’t always a straight line.

Some days you’re faster. Some days you’re slower. Weather, nutrition, recovery, and life all play a role.

If you feel like you’ve hit a plateau, keep showing up. Consistency over time builds endurance, strength, resilience, and character.

Every step counts. Every mile matters.

The toughest thing to do is show up every day.

08/08/2026

You’re not too old. You’re not too out of shape. And you don’t have to be an athlete to start.

Research continues to show us something pretty incredible: challenging your body can help protect your brain, too. 🧠

In adults ages 65–85, six months of high-intensity interval training improved memory and learning, with some of those benefits still measurable five years later.

That’s a pretty powerful reminder of why we believe so strongly in one simple idea:

SHOW UP TODAY.

Not because everybody needs to run an ultramarathon.
Not because everybody needs to lift heavy.
And definitely not because everybody starts in the same place.

Maybe showing up today is a walk around the block.
Maybe it’s your first workout in ten years.
Maybe it’s lifting weights, running intervals, or chasing a goal you once thought was impossible.

Your starting point doesn’t matter nearly as much as your willingness to start.

That’s a huge part of why we created the Toughest Alive App.

We wanted a place for anyone and everyone, at any fitness level, to have workouts, challenges, tools and a community that helps them keep moving toward their goals.

A place where your win doesn’t have to look like somebody else’s win.

We celebrate them all. 🔥

First mile.
First workout.
First 5K.
Hundredth mile.
Getting stronger.
Getting healthier.
Simply getting off the couch and deciding that today is the day.

Because Toughest Alive has never been about being the fittest person in the room.

It’s about continuing to show up.

And when you do, we’ll be there to encourage you and celebrate every step forward.

SHOW UP TODAY. 💪
