Soggy miles, lots of smiles - thank you all for bringing the hype and good times to the Skinny Raven Half & 10K! 🏁 🙌 From the Raven Run Club Hills Angels to aid station pros Girls on the Run Serving Southcentral Alaska, South High XC, and Alaska Winter Stars, to the cheers squads and N Street neighbors, there was no raining on this parade! We had a blast, and hope you did too. Congrats to all on your accomplishments, those new PRs, the goals reached, and the gumption to head to the start line this morning! See you again next year?? Pencil in July 18, 2027! (We’ll plan for some sun ☀️ 😉 )

2026 Chugach Classics Challenge Week 7 (July 20 - 26)

Complete the route this week to be entered into the raffle for a pair of shoes courtesy of !

Gear up for a big climb with some of the best views in Southcentral Alaska at the top! Don’t let the shorter mileage deceive you — this out and back trail gets steep! Start at the Bird Ridge parking lot OR Bird Creek lot off the Seward Highway. Take the pavement bike path toward the start of the hike. The trail parallels a powerline before taking a sharp left turn and ascending up the peak.

START AT: Bird Ridge Trailhead or Bird Creek Trailhead
GEAR: trail shoes, water/food/electrolytes, bear spray, wind or rain jacket
ESTIMATED TIME: 2-4 hours (but may vary!)

How to participate:
- Join Strava Club and record your activity as a “run” or “hike”.
- Ensure your activity uploads to Strava and visibility settings on the activity are set to “visible to everyone.” This way, your activity will show up in the group activity feed and you’ll be counted automatically.
- YOU DON’T NEED TO MANUALLY POST YOUR ACTIVITY as a “post” IN THE GROUP TO BE COUNTED! But you’re welcome to do so for the stoke.

2026 Skinny Raven Half Marathon & 10K apparel is ready for the weekend! 🏁 We’ll be launching these limited-run pieces at the Expo & Packet Pick Up at the downtown Skinny Raven Sports on Saturday, 10am to 3pm. Designed in collaboration with a local Alaskan artist, shoutout Hanna Jakab, we could not be more stoked to commemorate the festivities with this art. Hurry in on Saturday, or to the Park Strip on Sunday, to snag yours! Once they’re gone, that’s it!

CHUGACH CLASSICS CHALLENGE WEEK 6: CROW PASS (to the pass and back!) ⛰️

2026 Chugach Classics Challenge Week 6 (July 13 - 19)

Complete the route this week to be eligible for a pair of trail shoes, courtesy of brooks!

The trip to Girdwood is well worth it for this epic route up to the high point of Crow Pass — one of the most iconic trails in Alaska! Starting at the Crow Pass Trailhead at the top of Crow Creek road, follow the trail up a mix of gradual switchbacks, across glacial streams, and past the National Forest Service cabin before finding the official “Crow Pass” sign. Enjoy gorgeous views of Raven Glacier before turning around and coming back the same way. Don’t miss out on this one!

Community Highlight: Mustang Bear Paw 5K - Saturday, July 11

License to chill, AFTER 5K! The Mustang Bear Paw Festival 5k is a fundraiser for the Chugiak Cross Country and Track & Field teams, and is FUN for the whole family. Walk, run, jog before the parade through downtown Eagle River, past cheering crowds, in front of the reviewing stand, onto the paved bike trail, completing a loop back to the finish line. The event is sanctioned, and sponsored in part, by USA Track & Field and it will be the USA Track & Field Alaska Association 5K Road Race Championship. There are cash prizes on the line but you must be a USATF member to win them!
