Cue dramatic music: introducing the oar of truth (or the oar of teamwork, friendship and supporting a culture of safety)! I’m taking name suggestions ☺️

On Mondays our summer camp kids agree on a group/team social contract (see previous reel about the importance of the soft skills in outdoor leadership), and sign an object representing their commitment to teamwork and more! This week is paddling week so the obvious object of our choice was this super cool oar. It will be cool to see it full of signatures from all the kiddos over the summer.

Climbing week is obviously going to be an anchor board-what should we use for hiking and wilderness first aid week?

Our lead instructor/guide and Assistant Program Director Teagan has done a phenomenal job building a foundational paddling program for youth-it has been really cool to see it grow and keep getting better. This week was no exception with a great group of kids learning so many new skills and working together!
