The Anchorage Classical Ballet Academy invites you to The Nave for a massive neighborhood gathering. We are thrilled to host this event in partnership with The Nave Spenard for Spenard Second Saturday, pulling double duty as a vibrant community open house and ACBA’s landmark 30th Season Open House!

If you are looking for engaging, active, and creative outlets for your kids this fall, this is the one event you won’t want to miss. For one afternoon only, Anchorage’s favorite youth organizations are gathering under one roof. It is a fantastic, free, all-ages opportunity to explore local arts, athletics, and hands-on programs, meet instructors face-to-face, and plan your family’s fall schedule in a single fun afternoon.

Free Ballet Classes: ACBA will host free introductory mini-classes throughout the day specifically designed for young dancers aged 3 to 8 years old. No advance registration required—just show up ready to move!

✨September 2 - "COMMUNITY CAFE" Open Mic & Jam Session presented by Anchorage Concert Association. Bringing veteran, military & music communities together. Play music or share art—all genres & skill levels welcome. 6:00-7:30pm.

✨September 4 - "STAGES" First Friday Opening: Art by Adrienne Stohr, curated by J. Reto, in The Nave's newly activated Lobby gallery. Finished & unfinished works showcase a new perspective on the artist's process. On view through September 27 during events. Private curator-led tours by appointment. 5-8pm. Free!

✨September 11 - "ATHABASCAN FIDDLERS DANCE & POTLUCK" hosted by The Nave with Doyon, Limited. Bring dancing shoes & a dish to share, if you can! Pay-What-You-Can, or $10 to support musicians. All Ages, Sober Event. 7:00-11:00pm.

✨September 12 - "ANCHORAGE CLASSICAL BALLET ACADEMY 30th SEASON OPEN HOUSE" Presented by ACBA with The Nave on Spenard 2nd Saturday. Learn about ACBA's 30th Season. 10am-2pm. Free, all ages.

✨September 16 - "RECOVEREES 2026: SWEET CONNECTIONS" Presented by Recover Alaska. Celebrate this year's awardees with inspiring stories, mocktails & desserts! Every ticket supports safe, sober events & recovery connections in Alaska. Tickets: recoveralaska.org.

✨September 19 - "UNMASK THE NIGHT: MASQUERADE BALL" Presented by Alaska Children's Museum. An elegant evening supporting lifelong learning through play & ACM's goal to open a physical space for children & families. 5:30pm. Tickets: AKCM.Fundraiser.Support.

✨September 26 - "SCARED SCRIPTLESS & COMEDYSPORTZ DOUBLE BILL IMPROV SHOW" Presented by Last Frontier of Comedy. Back-to-school improv! Family-friendly/all-ages ComedySportz at 6pm, followed by adult Scared Scriptless at 8pm. Tickets: scared-scriptless.square.site.

✨September 29 - "WILD SHORE NEW MUSIC WITH QUINN CHRISTOPHERSON & FILM BY MICHAEL WALSH" Presented by Anchorage Concert Association. Multidisciplinary concert featuring Ahtna Athabascan & Iñupiaq singer-songwriter Quinn Christopherson, his great-grandfather's birch-wood violin, experimental film by Michael Walsh & Wild Shore Ensemble.
