Alaska Dogs Gone Wild

We are so honored to have had the friendly far-flung flyballers from No Speed Limit come up all the way from Maryland for our . As club number 102 in the North American Flyball Association, No Speed Limit is now the oldest club (formed in 1993) to compete in Alaska. Carle Lee (furthest to the right) served as a NAFA head judge for 30 years before celebrating her well-earned retirement at CanAm 2024. No Speed Limit also showcased some really cool summer solstice shirts during their stay.

Frankly, we don't know what we would have done without having Jonathan Bescher up here to judge our . He not only did an incredible job judging--both night (left photo) and day (right photo)--he was a tremendous help inside and outside the ring throughout the tourneys. Thanks to Jon, two ADGW head judges were spoiled by getting to focus on hosting duties and running dogs instead of judging. He also provided expert guidance to Alex, our provisional head judge who shared the ring with him. He even brought his heat counter for us to use--the first-time appearance of a heat counter in Alaska! Jon is the only out-of-stater to have judged three times in Alaska, and we truly hope "The Midnight Maestro" will be back up here for our 25th summer solstice.

Back in 2024, when the krazy folks of Kaotic K9s headed home from our Alaska Summer Solstice Tourneys, they told us: "See you again in 2026 for your 20th solstice tourneys!" Well, they were not only true to their word, they turned into a recruiting powerhouse who helped convince many other flyballers to join us from Region 7 (WA, OR, BC). While the KK9s were the only Canadians to come up this year, they represented their country well. 🇨🇦 They also proudly sported special shirts to commemorate their trip. We can't wait to see them again in 2031 for our 25th Alaska Summer Solstice Tourneys!
