Alaska Jr. Avalanche Sled Hockey

Join us Sunday March 30 at Avis Alaska Sports Complex for an exhibition game featuring our own Alaska Avalanche Sled Hockey team and the UAA Seawolves!

For those attending the sled hockey "try it for free" day tomorrow at the Sullivan, please use the attached map to enter the areana.

Exciting news!! Challenge Alaska has partnered up with the Anchorage Wolverines Hockey team to host 2 "Challenge Alaska" nights at their games this season. The dates are Saturday November 9th (will be their Military salute weekend), and Saturday March 15th (celebrating Women in Sports this night). November 9th is the day of our Sled Hockey "Try It" event at the Sully if you'd like to come out early and skate with the sled skaters from 11:00 am - 1:30 pm (spend the day at the Sully).

They have agreed to give all Challenge Alaska athletes (across all sports and programs), their families, volunteers, and staff tickets at the discounted rate of $10 per ticket. We will all be seated in the same general area, so it will be a fun way to connect with others you know, and maybe meet someone new, hangout, and enjoy some hockey.

Doors to the Sullivan Arena open at 6:00pm and the game begins at 7:30 pm. Parking is $5 cash only (per the Municipality), and they suggest getting there early due to congestion getting into the Sully.

On this Thanksgiving weekend, we are grateful for the athletes, families and friends who came to the Disabled Hockey Try It Day this afternoon at Kelly Connect Ice Center. Both Sled Hockey athletes and Special Hockey athletes got on the ice to experience the fun and joy that the sport of hockey has to offer. We would also like to thank the Alaska Recreation and Park Association and Mobility Sports, for their support in making this event possible.
