Congratulations to MJ, Conor, Jun, Luke, Jonas, and Ayla on an energetic test! What we look for in our Gup tests is improvement in the details: technique, which translates into power; attitude, which drives the technique; and intent, which brings it all together. They clearly knew the material, both physical and mental, and knew how to deliver it. We are very proud of them!

After many months of steady training and close attention to detail, Maggie, Carlene, MJ, and Jung were recently tested for their next ranks. We are proud to say that they passed with flying colors. Congratulation to you four on your well-deserved promotions!

Happy New Year! We are looking very forward to training in 2025. As we continue our path to learn more about our art of Tang Soo Do, we very much enjoy sharing our knowledge with all our students. Our annual Tang Soo Do Christmas party celebrated the holiday season with a feast and good cheer! A very happy time to get together without our dobohks and dees. We didn't talk much about hyung and stance, but rather, family and outside interests! It was a grand time!
We also had the opportunity to recognize our most senior student, Sunim Sah Num Nim Crane, for her accomplishments over 30 years of training, culminating in her 5th Dan promotion earlier this spring. As a tradition, I enjoy presenting senior Dan achievements with a personal gift. For SBN Crane, I had the pleasure to make a cross grain cutting board, giving clear instructions to use it for cutting, not kyukpa!!!

Congratulations on your Cho Dan Bo promotion, Jill!!

Jill, a very special student of ours, began her journey in 2007. She rose to the rank of 1st gup in 2010 and trained right up to the birth of her son, which kinda worried me, but showed her passion for our art! She spent the next many years raising her son and daughter, returning to train in 2022.
Of course I made her retest for her 1st gup. Now, 2 years later, she successfully tested for her Cho Dan Bo!!

Congratulations to MJ on a great test and on her promotion to 6th Gup! She is an excellent example of good technique, proper etiquette, and an overall great attitude. We are very proud of you, MJ!

This Commemorative from the World Tang Soo Do Association was given to the family of our beloved Grandmaster Jerry Stine. He will be missed dearly.

Congratulations to Carlene on her promotion to 6th Gup! Her spirit and enthusiasm are remarkable. She has trained hard, and it shows. Good job, Carlene, we are very proud of you!

We were very fortunate to have guest instructor BSBN Brandon Uttech for two classes! He challenged us, both physically and mentally, with drills and scenarios focusing on staying “tuned in” and attentive, working as a team, and overall being aware. We learned a lot, got some good conditioning workouts in, and had some fun in the process. So a very big thank you to BSBN Brandon Uttech, and we look forward to your next visit to Alaska!
