Seawolf Hall of Fame to welcome 21 in 2017 | University of Alaska Anchorage ANCHORAGE – Nineteen former student-athletes, a longtime supporter and a special era in University of Alaska Anchorage hockey will comprise the inductees for the 2027 class of the Seawolf Hall of Fame, announced Monday by UAA Director of Athletics Michael Bazemore.

Former Dimond star Baker joins Seawolves | University of Alaska Anchorage ANCHORAGE (July 17) – A former Anchorage prep star is headed home for the 2026-27 season as Alaska Anchorage men's basketball coach Cameron Turner announced Friday that Xzavier Baker has signed a scholarship agreement with the Seawolves.

Eight Seawolves earn NABC academic honor | University of Alaska Anchorage KANSAS CITY, Mo. (July 16) – Eight Alaska Anchorage players were honored this week as the National Association of Basketball Coaches announced its 2025-26 NABC Honors Court list for outstanding academic performance.

A Shootout date with the Cardinals and a matchup with a D-II Final Four club highlight the early portion of the 2026-27 schedule.

Louisville headlines '26 Shootout field | University of Alaska Anchorage ANCHORAGE (July 15) – The Alaska Anchorage women's basketball team will hit the Alaska Airlines Center hardwood for 18 contests in 2026-27, including a game against an NCAA Division I powerhouse in the ASRC/ConocoPhillips Great Alaska Shootout.

University of Alaska Anchorage cross country/track & field athlete John Peckham earned Academic All-American Second Team honors from the College Sports Communicators Tuesday.

Peckham, a native of Sisters, Ore., won GNAC titles in cross country and the steeplechase. He was named the GNAC Cross Country Athlete of the Year and earned All-American honors in cross country after finishing 25th at the NCAA National Championships. Peckham earned All-American honors in the steeplechase with an 11th-place finish at the NCAA National Championships. He was named the GNAC Scholar Athlete of the Year and has a 4.0 GPA as a master of business administration student.

“John has been the flag bearer for our program the last few seasons,” said head coach Ryan McWilliams. “It’s always tough losing leadership and grit like his on a team, but he has set an amazing example for those who remain to follow. He did this on the course and track, in the classroom, and day in and day out as a person of phenomenal character.”

Ski trio named Academic All-Americans | University of Alaska Anchorage ANCHORAGE, ALASKA – University of Alaska Anchorage skiers Corbin Carpenter, Erling Bjornstad and Ella Bromee each earned CSC Academic All-American honors.

Twenty UAA student-athletes completed 2025-26 with perfect overall GPAs. Congrats and well done to all our academic stars.

GNAC honors 51 Seawolves for elite academics | University of Alaska Anchorage PORTLAND, Ore (July 7) – The University of Alaska Anchorage had 51 student-athletes receive the Great Northwest Athletic Conference's Faculty Athletic Representative's Scholar-Athlete Award on Tuesday.
