Hello
We are so honored to announce that starting on 10/4, the first Sunday of each month we will be offering a Community Grief and Movement class during our Self Love Sunday time slot.
Over the years I have often found myself trying to figure out the best way to be of service to our community as we respond to different situations that are happening. Is this a thing I can throw a little money at? Is this a thing I can show up for? Where is the protest? Who do I call? What is our role here? How can we be of use? Often times I am left having done something but never feeling like I've done enough and that there is always more love to give.
I was thinking specifically in regards to flood recovery and mental health care access over the last weeks, as well as several gut wrenching situations that have been shared with me in the studio over the last several years. I put out a few feelers and found myself quickly in connection with one Mr. Rick Long. After meeting with Rick, I knew this was something we could absolutely open our doors for and meet a need in our community in this specific way.
Rick Long has over 50 years of experience working in mental health in a variety of settings including with youth, adults, addictions, and working with couples. He is certified in EMDR and Grief Counseling and has experience with trauma and loss. Rick currently works primarily in his private practice in Anderson, IN as well as in workshop settings in Tennessee.
We are so pleased to be partnering with Rick for the Community Grief and Movement class.
The first portion of this class will be led by Rick and with opportunity to share, following discussion time, Jessi will lead a gentle trauma informed yoga practice.
You can sign up if you think of it so we have an idea of how many to expect but it's not required.
