Richard and I have a full last weekend of September ahead, and I’d love to see you somewhere along the way!

✨ Friday, September 25
We’re back at The Summit Rooftop.

✨ Sunday, September 27
THUNDERGYPSY full band kicks things off at the Duluth Fall Festival, then THUNDERGYPSY Unplugged heads over to Statham PorchFest that afternoon.

Three shows, three very different vibes, and plenty of music. Put us on your calendar now—more details are coming soon! 🎶

If you’re looking for a good Saturday-night plan, come join Richard and me at Ground and Pound Coffee next weekend.

THUNDERGYPSY Unplugged will be bringing our award-winning blues show, soulful favorites, a little R&B, and some of the new original music from *Southern Soul*—all in a cozy, listening-room kind of setting.

The kind of night where you can settle in with a drink, hear the stories behind the songs, laugh a little, sing along when the feeling hits, and let live music carry the evening.

I’d love to see some friendly faces there. 🎶☕️🍸

One phrase, or idea, I've come back to over and over is:

Performance is a conversation.

The more I think about it, the more I wonder if that's really true.

Some performances feel like someone is trying to impress me.

Others feel like they're sharing something with me.

There's a huge difference.

I'm fascinated by the performances that make us forget we're watching. The ones that pull us into a story, a moment, or an emotion.

Those performances don't feel like presentations.

They feel like conversations.

I'm curious...

When you think about your favorite performer—whether it's a singer, actor, dancer, or even a speaker—what makes you feel connected to them?

I'd love to hear your thoughts.

I’m learning that sometimes the work comes before the permission.

This is a little piece of what this *Little Shop of Horrors* process is teaching me.

Have you ever realized you’d been doing the thing long before you let yourself claim the title?

☕ Coffee first, then Groove.
🎶 Or Groove first, then coffee tastes even better.

Either way, we’ll be moving together:
Tuesdays (Anderson Rec Center) at 9:30 AM.

Lately, I've been thinking about this phrase:

Become the Performer.

But what does that actually mean?

For a long time, I think I assumed it meant becoming more confident. More polished. More experienced.

Now I'm not so sure.

When I watch a performance that really stays with me, it isn't usually because of one perfect note. It's because someone has created an experience. You can feel the thought that went into it—the storytelling, the movement, the pacing, the moments that make you lean in.

Maybe becoming a performer isn't about changing who you are.

Maybe it's about learning how to create an experience that invites people into your world.

I'm still exploring that idea, and I have a feeling it's one I'll be thinking about for a long time.

So I'll ask you...

What does "becoming the performer" mean to you?
