Meet our facility manager, Katelyn Higbie!

Katelyn began her journey with Blue Star Equestrian Center in January of 2024 and assumed the role of manager in April of 2026. She is a dedicated horsewoman who comes to us having twenty-three years of hands-on equine experience.

In her formative years, Katelyn studied Large Animal Science at Bristol County Agricultural High School in Dighton, Massachusetts. She completed several years of volunteer work at a local hippotherapy program, handling horses and assisting with patients in addition to being well-involved in her local 4-H program, excelling in horse judging, particularly in conformation classes.

Katelyn grew up taking lessons at several facilities and found a passion for hunter jumpers in high school and college, while also dabbling in dressage and various western styles of riding. Having trained many horses with various riding styles, she emphasizes the comfort and overall health of the horse first and foremost.

Outside of work, Katelyn enjoys spending time with and developing her own horses.
Her small herd consists of two personal mares, Redd and Maeby, and a family-owned gelding, Michael.

Katelyn is overjoyed to be a member of Blue Star Equestrian Center and is looking forward to contributing to the local horse community and overall development of the facility going forward!
