PBYFL Andrews Mustangs JV 2021

So to cap off our season and cement our place in history, I had one last thing done for you all, a post in the Andrews Newspaper. I hope you all enjoy it and run out and get your copies for your scrap books.
And just like that, that's a wrap on 2021 Andrews JV Mustanhs Football fall football season. We're not done by any means, we're going to keep grinding and getting these boys ready for Jr High and HS football.

I just wanted to say CONGRATULATIONS to your 2021 D2 JV Football Champions!!!
The game this Saturday was the matchup everybody had been looking for ALL season, two undefeated teams going head to head, BOTH undefeated, both high scoring all season. The Greenwood Rangers took the early lead 6-0 and kept that lead for most of the game. The Mustangs made some adjustments at halftime and the results became obvious very quickly as the Mustangs went on to score 13 unanswered points to seal the victory, the Championship, and the undefeated season. The final score was 13-6 in favor of your Andrews Mustangs JV.
The Championship game MVP was Austin Delacruz who punched in both scores for the Mustangs and was also a big part in helping the Mustangs defense stop the Rangers. The Mustang's defense only allowed 18 points ALL season and on the offensive side, well, let's just say they scored A LOT.
Again, congrats to your 2021 PBYFL D2 JV Football CHAMPIONS, your Andrews Mustangs!!!

Let's go, Mustang Nation!! It's time to make a statement!

This past weekend your JV Andrews Mustangs punched their ticket to the Champioship game!!! They defeated the Big Spring Steers 33-7 and were in control of this game from the start. I can't stress how special this team is is and has been to watch. The MVP of this game, as selected by the refs, was Camo Aguilar.
This weekend the 2 best teams in their respected divisions will face each other for the Championship title in Midland at Grande Stadium this Saturday, time TBD.
We hope to see you all at the game wearing your Mustangs gear and colors, cheering on this AMAZING squad FULL of young talent.

So our AMAZING JV cheerleaders came out to our practice and surprised the football boys. They did a cheer for the boys AND brought them some good luck treats for this weeks playoff game. I have really really enjoyed how close our Cheer coaches, cheerleaders along with our football coaches and football boys, have worked this year. This year has been a very special year and we are hoping to end this season on an absolute HIGH.

Thank you JV cheerleaders and coaches, you all really are the BEST!!!

This weekend was also the time that the PBYFL Board handed out invitations to the players for the year-end PBYFL Awards Banquet. We are proud to announce that out of our nominees, from the JV Mustangs.

Overall MVP - Camo Aguilar - RB/DB
Offensive Player of the Year - Hayden Dansby - RB
Defensive Player of the Year - Austin Delacruz - MLB
Lineman of the Year - Adrian Perez - OL

The only player representing the JV Mustangs this year will be Austin Delacruz, for winning the Defensive POY Award. Congrats to all of our nominees for their hard work and performance on the field and in practice. These boys are all very much deserving of these nominations and Austin Delacruz too is VERY deserving of winning this award.

Austin Delacruz, aka - A Train, has been a force to be reckoned with on this shut-down defensive unit all season. Austin has been our MLB all season and has absolutely been a leader on the field on a defensive unit that is LOADED with talent and that has only allowed 6 points ALL season, thus far.

Again, help us all congratulate Austin on receiving this prestigious award for his efforts all season.

So after a BYE last week, our Mighty Mustangs got to get back on the field and get back to work this weekend. We were matched up with Crane Coyotes again and the results were the same...a WIN for the Mustangs. With the win, we will advance to Round 3 against the Big Spring Steers, and the winner going to the Championship game. Our boys have been working hard ALL year for this and we are ready to go. The MVP of this game, as selected by the refs, was #0 Camo Aguilar for his efforts in the game.

Your JV Andrews Mustangs have gone and done it!!! UNDEFEATED regular season, 7-0!!!
This week we took care of business and beat the Pecos Eagles 25-6 and yes, we gave up our first touchdown of the season. I as a Coach am most proud of how these boys handled giving up that TD and staying in the game mentally to get back to taking absolute control of the game. This week the MVP of the game, as selected by the refs, was #0 Camo Aguilar.
Since we finished the season as the #1 seed, we get a bye the week for the first round if the playoffs which start for the rest of the division this week. We will get back to the lab and get ready for our 2nd season, the PKAYOFFS, as we have our sights on the Championship but we will also take these playoffs one game at a time, it is now win or go home time for these next few weeks.

Another GREAT showing by our mighty Mustangs this weekend. They came out and absolutely shut down the Crane Coyotes. Our AMAZING defense has yet to allow a score with the final score being 32-0. The MVP of the game, as selected by refs this week, was Camo Aguilar. This defense has really come together as one fierce unit. Next week we wrap up the regular season here at home against the Pecos Eagles.

Mustangs are now 5-0 after defeating the Compass Cougars 22-0, and next on the radar will be the Crane Coyotes. The MVP this week, selected by the refs, was Austin "A Train" Delacruz for his amazing running on offense and shut down play on defense at middle linebacker. Our Mustangs really came together this week and really showed everyone what a UNIT looks like. We have worked on closing the gap and boy have we. We have still yet to get scored on and will look to protect that personal goal of 0 (ZERO) points allowed this week. This defense is FO REAL!!!
