SUP 101 Lakes and the Crooked Shack will not be opening for the 2026 season at Crooked Lake Beach.

This community and business has meant the world to me. What started as a summer dream to be able to buy all the paddle boards I wanted 14 years ago, became something even greater than I could have imagined. From paddle board lessons/rentals, SUP yoga, sunset SUP's, SUP Fitness, fundraising events, bachelorette parties, destination classes, Paddle of the Gyms, YOGA on the Beach, Sound Baths, sand sculpture contest, tie-dye beach blast, birthday parties, family gatherings, rucks, night SUP's on the 4th of July and everything in between. I have met some of my favorite most amazing people and wildlife SUP'ing along the way!

The reality is that rising expenses combined with every season becoming a shorter summer season/school starting back beginning of August, have made it challenging to continue operating sustainably. I never minded doing this for the love of it, but too many factors are pointing to the fact that it’s time to hang up the paddle, at least in this chapter.

I want to sincerely thank every single person who supported SUP 101 Lakes, rented a board, came to an event, shared a post, or simply spent time on or in the the water. You helped create something SUPer special that brought more joy to my life than I could ever express! I will forever be grateful for the memories and friendships made through this journey.

Paddle boarding and being on, in or near the water will always be my love, so this is not goodbye. Continue to follow the page, I’m not giving up completely. My hope is to transition SUP 101 Lakes into more of a paddle board club and continue hosting a few events or meet-ups throughout the season.

The beach house and beach hold stories from so many generations, I'm grateful all who have shared and that my family and I got to be a part of it! I hope for the beach & bath house (built in 1949) and surrounding land to eventually become a recognized historical landmark preserved in Steuben County for future generations to enjoy as well.
