About the videos and ASIRI:
ASIRI’s mission is to increase awareness, knowledge, access, and participation in adaptive sports among students and teachers in the K–12 education system. Through ASIRI, we demonstrate how adaptive sports, including wheelchair basketball, wheelchair tennis, sitting volleyball, and goalball, can be incorporated into general physical education and create meaningful opportunities for students with and without disabilities to participate. These new wheelchair basketball videos were developed in response to feedback from physical education teachers who requested more high-quality instructional resources to support their teaching of the ASIRI curriculum. The videos cover fundamental skills and drills, providing practical resources for educators, community programs, parents, students, and beginner wheelchair basketball players. These additional videos help make ASIRI resources accessible to a wider audience across Michigan and the United States.
