What your friends and neighbors are saying about 'Keith Hafner's Karate'...
Our son has been attending here for many months now. He is really enjoying it. It has been helping him become more self confident. All the teachers are wonderful! Grand Master Keith is really awesome, always greets everyone with a smile. I have really enjoyed reading the weekly publication. Gives the parents some important points to ponder.

What your friends and neighbors are saying about 'Keith Hafner's Karate'...
Our son has made so much progress both physically and mentally. All thanks to the wonderful instructors. Our son has much more confidence since he started at Keith Hafner's. Thank you for everything you are teaching these young people. Being kind to others is being taught, but also to know how to defend yourself if someone is bullying your child. 100% recommendation!

What your friends and neighbors are saying about 'Keith Hafner's Karate'...
We joined KHK two years ago and have not regretted one minute. It's more than a karate dojo, it's a leadership academy that teaches life skills to parents and children. They work well with all children and attract a diverse set of students. They inspire, motivate, and consistently look for ways to improve. This is not our first karate school. KHK is head and shoulders beyond our last school. The value can't be beat! If you are looking, just sign up!

Keith Hafner's Karate (case study #15)
1. Jonas, an impulsive kid, begins karate lessons.
2. He learns, among other things, how to slow his breathing and relax his shoulders.
3. Jonas begins to make better decisions. Not perfect. Just better.

The History of Keith Hafner's Karate...part #18
1978: Master Sell begins giving me more teaching responsibility.
At the time, we ran only about 12 group classes per week (compared to 80+ now!)...but Master Sell had a whole bunch of private lesson students.
If you were a private lesson student, you got a full ONE HOUR private lesson each week...and came to as many group classes as you could.
For much of 1978, I taught one hour private lessons all day long, in addition to the group classes. Because I was teaching almost all day, Monday thru Friday, I gained a tremendous amount of teaching experience in a short amount of time.
Teaching one hour private lessons, one right after another, all day long, was tough...but it really helped me to understand which teaching methods worked and which didn't.
Even though I was only 21 years old, I was starting to form very definite ideas about effective teaching strategies.

Bullies.
Hi...Keith Hafner (the Karate guy) here.
Standing up to bullies is tough stuff.
But when it comes to ‘tactics’ to get the job done, a very important part of the process is often overlooked.
It's the part that addresses how kids' imaginations hold them back from standing up to the bully.
See, when a child imagines standing up for herself to a bully, her mind instantly creates a ‘movie’...
It's a ‘movie’ of the worst possible outcome that could happen as a result.
It's important to talk to your child about this. Ask them to describe the worst thing that could happen.
Then, help them imagine a totally different outcome.
Help them imagine something that will give them confidence in place of fear.
Would this benefit your son or daughter?
I'd be happy to show you, in more detail, how this ‘success system’ works.
Just click here (www.karateisgoodforyou.com) and you'll see how easy it is.
It might be just what you are looking for.

I only own about ten things, and this is one of them.
I was 8 years old in the summer of 1965 and my Dad and my favorite Uncle took me and my cousin Barry to a twi-night double header at Tiger Stadium...our heroes vs. the Kansas City Athletics. First time, for Barry and me.
And - it was Bat Day, and back then, they gave each kid an actual, full sized bat...a genuine Hillrich & Bradsby Louisville Slugger.
My excitement, though, turned to disappointment. The bat they gave me was about five inches longer than I was tall.
My Dad, as he often did, saved the day. He asked around until he found a tall guy who had been given a short bat, and made the trade.
Some of you guys will know that each such bat had a Tiger players name printed on the end. Jerry Lumpe, the Tiger's second baseman, might not be remembered by many, but his and my baseball careers are forever linked together. His name, printed on the end of this well worn, well used bat, is still visible.
