It’s a common trap. You work so hard to lose the extra weight and you reach your goal. But every success is laced with fear…
-
Fear that all your hard-earned results will go away.
-
To combat this, you focus on the only solution that makes sense: you keep trying to lose more and more weight—beyond what’s healthy.
-
This increasingly restrictive behavior is what ends in burnout, leading to the very weight gain you hoped to avoid.
-
Focus on building sustainable habits that support the healthy life you want. With enough time, you will learn to trust yourself and be able to maintain your results without much extra thought.
-
And if along the way some extra positive encouragement can help you stay focused, follow this page for more.

Have you ever gotten the backlash from people in your life when you try to make healthy lifestyle changes?
-
It’s far more common than most people realize. (But if you’ve experienced it, then you KNOW.)
-
It’s hard enough to make the changes, but to do so in the firestorm of comments from the peanut gallery? Next to impossible.
-
Keep this in mind: those comments are not because you’re doing something wrong.
-
They are a reflection of the insecurities of the people making the comments.
-
It’s about them, not you.
-
Once you recognize this, it becomes far easier to ignore while you keep moving forward.

Quite the opposite, changing your habits will likely make you become MORE of who you are. (Or rather, who you want to be.)
-
Don’t let “the way things have always been done” prevent you from attaining the lifestyle you want.
-
It’s ok to give up fast food even if that’s all@your friends know.
-
It’s ok to give up alcohol even if that was your main social activity.
-
It’s ok to work on your future over the weekend even when everyone around you takes that time to forget about their week.
-
You can step into your new identity, your preferred identity, at any moment.
-
Don’t let others, or yourself, tell you otherwise.

I was asked recently why I’m so nice to people, even people with whom I have differences of opinion or, quite frankly, just don’t like.
-
My answer is two-fold:
-
1. It never hurts me to be nice to others. It’s not people pleasing, brown-nosing, or any other form of flattery.
-
It’s energy management. If I want to feel more positive energy than I have to put it out there.
-
2. I get to make my living by seeing the potential in others. Do this job long enough and you can’t help but see the potential in everyone you cross paths with.
-
I choose to treat people not for their shortcomings now, but for who they could be with the right encouragement. Will they ever live up to that? Who knows, but it isn’t for me to decide.
-
Moving through the world with this lens is a better experience than a constant state of animosity.
-
Plus, what do I have to be upset about? I have the coolest job in the world.

When I was 100lbs overweight, each night I’d promise myself to do better and each morning I’d fail to take action.
-
For YEARS that went on.
-
If you’re unhappy right now, it’s within your power to do something about it.
-
But you have to take action.
-
Once I followed through on taking action—no matter how imperfect—my life began to change.
-
That can happen for you too. Start today. Start now.
-
Go for a walk. Get to the gym. Cook at home instead of ordering out.
-
Action is the currency of change.

Your environment matters… More than you realize.
-
What foods do you have easy access to? Are they the foods you’re trying to eat more or less of?
-
What types of people are surrounding you? Do they have or are working toward the same things you want in life?
-
Much of what you mistake as being discipline or motivation is actually driven by the elements of your environment.
-
If your environment supports your goals, success will be inevitable.
-
But if your environment strays from your goals, success becomes near impossible.
-
No idea where to begin with improving your environment? Send me a dm and we can point you in the right direction.
