POSTERIOR DRAWER TEST FOR TEST DAY TUUEESSDAAYY π§ͺπ£οΈπ
The Posterior Drawer test allows you to test for any potential injuries in the Posterior Cruciate Ligament (PCL) and Posterior Knee Instabilityπ¦΅πͺ’
Whenever you do this test make sure you test both legs in order to compare and contrast each side!π¦Ώπ¦ΏποΈ
Have your Patient relax & lie down flat on their back!
β’ Get your subject in position by bringing their Hip into 45Β° Flexion and the Knee into 90Β° Flexion
β’ Stabilize the Foot & Grasp the Tibia, with Pointers at the top of the Calf + Thumbs at the top of the Tibia by the Joint Line
β’ Once you have a comfortable hold, push the at an angle towards the patient + bring it back towards yourself
POSITIVE TESTββ
: if patient feels Pain when test is performed ; If there is increased backwards movement of the Tibia compared to the uninsured Leg
Positive Tests can Imply Sprain or Torn PCL ππ€

Today is the ABALAKOV JUMP which is a little different than weβve been showing yall! ποΈπποΈ Instead of a Physical Exam weβre coming at you with a Strength Test we perform on our ForceDecks!ποΈ
The Abalakov Jump is a CMJ (Countermovement Jump) that involves the arms! π¦΅πͺ You start standing tall with your arms raised straight up, and go into a quick downward movement (Countermovement) while swinging the arms back, before leaping up as high as you can & swinging the arms up with you! πππ
The Abalakov and other CMJβs are very fundamental movements in Sports, Training, and Return to Activity, that offers wide perspectives into a persons Strength, Neuromuscular Efficiency, and overall Functional Capacity π§ π

Take this one step-by-step π£ and make sure that youβre examining for Range of Motion, Scapular Winging, any Compensations, and Comparisons from both sides! π§ποΈ
1. extend the arm and place it behind the back, lumbar height, with Palm facing OUT
2. If Range of Motion is Good, the subject should then lift their hand away from their back
3. If subject can Lift-Off, apply resistance to the hand and have them fight it off

FADIR Stands for Flexion, ADDuction, and Internal Rotation!π¦΅πͺ
Have your friend relax and lie on their back to start. Test should be performed Bilaterally, making sure the subject is relaxed, which makes the test easier!! β
Bring the hip thatβs being tested into a HIP LOCK to put it into FLEXION. Push the knee Towards/Across the body to initiate ADDUCTION. And Pull the ankle Away/To the Outside of the body to INTERNALLY ROTATE the leg.
IMPLICATIONS πβοΈπ§βπ»
- PAIN in the ANTERIOR HIP can indicate
Femoroacetabular Impingement (FAl).
- PAIN in the GROIN can indicate possible labral pathology.
