Yesterday was provisioning day. Our cold box is almost full. Each meal individually packaged together and stored in the order we expect to eat it according to the latest weather forecast. For instance we can probably boil water without too much trouble heading down the Chesapeake Bay, but might not want to do that on the ocean in 40kt winds.

Our X46 was the Cruising World Best Cruiser 2020. No, literally, like our actual boat! Skipper bought the boat in 2019 and Cruising World heard about it. So they came down and tested her out for a couple of days. A few weeks later, we won! Check out the December 2019 issue of to learn more. And now let's see how she does next week in the race! Two of the key documents for a sailboat race are the Notice of Race, and the Safety Requirements.
World Sailing is the international authority for the sport and races have to publish their notice in accordance with the Racing Rules of Sailing.
And once the race is on, it’s Safety First! The Annapolis to Bermuda race has a thick list of safety equipment we must have on board. We’ve spent 3 years prepping and have passed our first inspection with just a few discrepancies to be fixed before race day!
