USNA VARSITY OFFSHORE SAILING
The United States Naval Academy's Varsity Offshore Sailing Team (VOST) competes in intercollegiate big boat regattas, many of which are hosted by the United States Naval Academy, as well as outside competition, both locally on the Chesapeake Bay and offshore the East Coast from Halifax, N.S., Bermuda and other locales in the summer. The Offshore Sailing Team's fleet consists of Navy 44s, high performance racing boats donated to the Naval Academy and Colgate 26's. The Colgate 26's are used to train the Junior Varsity members of the Offshore Team in sailing and racing techniques before moving up to the big boats. Offshore Team members also compete in regattas and races in Brazil, Turkey, France and California
