98' er****on, no Vi**ra needed! At Jabins last week the spars for a Jeanneau 64 were stepped with help of their crane.

Southern Ropes have just come out with a new line DK100. It is a UHMwPE single braid, which is heat set with qualities very similar to 'Dynex Dux'. However, what is unique about this line is that the thread fiber is black! Up to now UHMwPE (Spectra/Dyneema) fibers have always been white, then post fiber manufacturer the rope maker has added pigment, black being the most UV resistant color. So having the actual fiber black has superior UV qualities, will not fade and will not look patchy in the lay. I have a small shipment of this DK100 arriving shortly for my soft shackles.

Lynda and I cracked the nod to snazzy cocktail do aboard the L'Hermione last week. She is a replica of the the original French frigate which in the American war of revolution ran the British blockades to supply General Washington much need help and was a turning point in the war. The rigging was most impressive. The Bosun in those days really had his work cut out for him. One man could not do it all!

"Mini-T". I just had a small project making up some lines for a Mini Transat. The lines are made up from Southern Ropes 'Dyneema and Vectran Braids'. The customer wanted to be able to swap out the halyard shackles he supplied, note the ends!
