Kit Spotlight: Blackhawk Omega Strike (Eagle Ind. V2 Variant)
Blackhawk made copies of the Eagle Industries V1 series of vests starting around the late 90s, with Blackhawk producing their Eagle copies to the present day. This particular vest is modeled after the Eagle V2, which adds a pistol holster in lieu of 3 rifle mag pouches. A general purpose pouch and three additional pistol mag pouches are on the chest, and what seems to be a gr***de pouch on the left shoulder is present. Its rear has provisions for mounting pouches, which I believe to be for ALICE style mounting hardware. Adjusted for size via the cord cummerbund and for height via hook and loop. Belt loops are for mounting a tactical belt that can hold additional equipment. Inside are document pockets on the left and right waist area closed by a zipper and what I think is a hydration bladder pocket in the rear.
idk pls correct or add anything Clone or die he knows a lil more about these
It definitely looks just like baby’s first airsoft/paintball vest due to this being prolifically copied by those various companies, but it’s also still an icon in terms of giving film or video game action characters a tactical aesthetic. Security companies will often issue these vests too. Turkish Anafarta or Russia’s SRVV made copies based on the platform. Various nations either still purchase these for their MIL/LE forces or make/purchase copies of these Blackhawk-Eagle desigs. Whether you’re larping as a 2000s SWAT officer, a cartel, or Stargate cosplaying, this legacy kit of 90s GWOT heritage still sticks around, and for a decent price too
